So Jad, what advantage would be best to repel mind control spells...

ok here's the difference. FIST of Osano-wo is a magical wrecking ball.
FURY of Osano-Wo is a lightning spell.

and the mind control spell is tricky, since it can require up to three rolls at slim odds to succeed and even then it may not work.

And to repel mind control you want clear thinker.

What type of dice will we be rolling for these things?

Squishy Cheeks 04-28-2004 08:11 PM

10 sided and I'll be rolling them

Hm... We seem to have a large number of mages (3 mages, 3 fighters, empress), and apparently Elmister is a fire mage as well (And apparently a better one...). Should I switch to some other clan?

That what I thought, just making sure. Time to shift some numbers around...

Squishy Cheeks 04-28-2004 08:15 PM

That and magic resistance.

edit: Elminster is an earth mage. Immortal steel, earthquake and tomb of jade are earth spells. Your school is better than his, it's just more specialized.

Spelled added in.

Fires of Purity
The Fire from Within
Quiescence of Air

Question, I noticed some skills like Research that help learn spells faster. Is it possible for those that don't start as mages to learn magic, or is that restricted to starting mages? I'm staying a Samurai either way, just asking as I put points in skills.

Squishy Cheeks 04-28-2004 08:35 PM

no. There is only one Samurai Shugenja, the Togashi Daimyo, Champion of the Dragon Clan. You can ask him how he did it, but talking to him is like talking to a magic 8-ball
