Opinion: Which FF had the best Cid?

Personally, I'd have to go with FFIV. Had some good music and he looked like ZZ Top on the battle screen.

He was definitely a cool Cid. It's gonna be a toss-up between 4 and 7, cause those are the two where Cid plays a prominent role in the games. In 6 he's only there a short while, in 8 he's a doddering old fool, in 9 he's...rarely even human, let alone interesting...

I would probably vote for 7 because I like his character model, he's a good fighter, he also had cool music and he had that stogie all the time. Dig the stogie.

Meh...I sorta like the Cid from Final Fantasy Tactics honestly. He had Excalibur (Auto-Haste), all magic-sword skills (Destroy equiped items while dealing uber damage, drain HP/MP, various direct ranged damaging attacks), plus he was doing all that stuff while being one of the oldest characters in the game.

PS - Was there a Cid in FFV? I don't remember.

Agreed. Nothing is cooler than watching T.G. Cid bring down a Holy Explosion on a chokepoint of five enemies and watch them go confused and shred themselves...MUWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

And yes, there was. Cid in FFV really was just the party's personal mechanic and nothing more, though.

Have to go with seven. I mean, the Venus Gospel was just wicked, the Highwind attack was almsot as deadly as Omnislash, he build all of the aircraft you use (Tiny Bronco, Highwind, and Shinra #26) Plus he was enteraining to have in conversations. (And when he was running)

Hmm...well I always loved good ol' Uncle Cid from VI, but maybe I'm biased. Cid from FFIV was freaking awesome because he just wouldn't die. V he was cool too, he built a bunch of things, and simply thinking of V makes me think of the fscking awesome 3 worlds. I've already spoiled IV, so I won't spoil V, but man, that 3rd world was kickass. It's a shame more people haven't played V.

So a tie between IV and V. The later ones were good too, though.

Definitely Highwind, hands down. Pollendina is a close second, though.

FF IV Cid. Anyone who jumps out of of a flying airship with a bomb strapped to his chest and survives has got to be cool. FFVII Cid is a close second, however.

Yes, FFIV Cid just couldn't be stopped. He jumped down a 50-mile-deep hole, blew himself up, and slept it off. There's something about that you've really got to respect.

My favoritres are the Cids from FFT and FFTA, although Cid from FFV was also cool. Orlandu (Cid from FFT) was quite possibly the best character, Judgemaster Cid (FFTA) was also fun and powerful, but not as good as the prior Cid. FFV's Cid just kept making your ship better and better, which was awsome considering he hung out in a library.
