Up
So, Pixar's newest movie, Up, came out today, and I'm curious as to whether anyone has seen it yet/what they might think about it. I personally found it terrific, although I'm not going to waste time ranking it against other Pixar movies or anything of the sort. I definitely recommend seeing it.

I'm off to see it tomorrow with my girlfriend. We've been all kinds of psyched to see it since we saw the teaser.

Oh, I am totally seeing this on Sunday.

What I want to know is, when is Geri getting his own movie?
|
I cried.
I cried like a baby. BEST PIXAR MOVIE EVER |

Animation was, as always, absolutely gorgeous. The 3D was utilized in a way that actually added to the grandness of the scenery, rather than in the usual forced-down-your-throat THIS IS IN 3D WOOOO LOOK OUT THAT ROCK IS GONNA HIT YOU! way. Bravo, Pixar. You wouldn't think an animated movie about an old man clinging to his past and trying to fulfill his dreams would make for quality children's entertainment. But Pixar manages to do it and do it beautifully, and as always, the movie can be enjoyed by any age group, not just kids. And I love the way the dogs talk. It's so perfect. GO SEE THIS MOVIE, PEOPLE. DO IT NOW. Also-- For those who have seen it already: Was it just me, or was WALL-E sitting on one of the rocks in the cave? I only saw it for a split second, so I may be mistaken. |
98 on Rotten Tomatoes. I didn't need any more reasons but yes, I wish to see this.
Off topic, but know what I hate? That all most the entire top ten of the box office is made up of critically panned movies. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/movies/box_office.php |

But fff, yes, it was incredibly sad. At the same time though it was incredibly heartwarming. It was really one of the best movies about coping with death and loss that I've seen. Just about the entire movie worked for me, the structure of the story, the themes and character arcs, and Carl has to be the most well developed character in a Pixar movie yet. |

Okay, so maybe I was a bit overexcited with that previous post of mine. I think I prefer Ratatouille still, but Up is certainly second place in my heart.
I love how the most symbollic movie of the year so far is a flick with talking dogs. So sad that this will never even get the nomimation for Best Picture at the Oscars. |
