Deep in the Caribbean sea...

I've sorry, I'm still in shock. I just hope they get the same Voice Actor as MI3 & 4. SWB |

Ron Gilbert isn't on the staff list, but on his website he said Telltale had invited him to an initial brainstorming session. While MI3 wasn't bad and I enjoyed playing MI4, even though it was lacking in retrospect, with a bit of luck we'll get something that's a bit more in line with the original two games.

Eh, while I loved MI1, I never felt the same love for MI2. I guess its partially because of Guybrush's tendency for uninspired commentary on items, compared with MI1. Also, it ended up being a bit too complicated & the story just went nowhere for me.
MI3 has its flaws, but it at least tied MI2 to Monkey Island, something that I felt was lacking in MI2. And it had a fair share of decent puzzles. Plus, it brought us Dominic. MI4 has its fun moments, but I don't care for it & unlike 1-3, I haven't ever replayed it yet. SWB |
I didn't even know there was a 4 until recently. I need to finish 3, play 4, and then pick up 5. :gonk:

MI 5? Really?! Yes! Finally!
And I don't care what all you nay-sayers think, 3 and 4 were fun games too. And I never really cared for Gilberts planned ending to the series either. *Shrugs* |
I've got nothing against 3. 4 just had awful puzzles, a bad engine (at least for that game), and a bunch of stupid stuff. (Giant unexplainable robot monkey & LeChuck playing second fiddle to an Australian.)
And it isn't Monkey Island 5 exactly... Its like the other Telltale titles: Sam & Max, Bone, Strong Bad & Wallace & Grommit, episodic games. All together they're about the length of a full game, but each will have its own story & be somewhat independent of one another. SWB |
Guybrush Threepwood returns!
Tales of Monkey Island announced
Looks like Guybrush finally "grew the beard" (back from LeChuck's Revenge, though, isn't it actually?) I guess I should check my email more often, or I wouldn't have missed out on this great bit of news. Really looking forward to this. Looks like I'll have another series to play alongside Sam and Max Season 3. The question is: is this worth finally slogging the whole way through Escape From Monkey Island's controls? I made it about 3/4 of the way through that game and really, I wasn't too happy with what they'd done. I guess I'll give it another go, as I think I can remember how to solve most of the puzzles and it was still pretty funny. I wonder if the success of the episodic format of Sam and Max and now Monkey Island has LucasArts grinding their teeth in frustration? EDIT: Actually I guess they're working with LucasArts on this one (i.e. paying of the rights to make it)? I guess LucasArts has seen the error of their ways. (lol jk) |
NO NOT THE RED BUTTON
Most excellent news! To top that off they have remade the first game, and allows you to seamlessly switch from the modern version to the classical version.
Now we can only hope for a revamp of Grim Fandango and we shall be happy campers. |
I wouldn't mind a remake of LeChuck's Revenge or a re-release of Curse of Monkey Island (I think that one looks just fine the way it is, plus I can't find it for sale like the first two), either. Hopefully in the future they do those too. I assume they like money and all that, after all.
