TF2 Thread of WTF is up with voicechat set to allhear?
 

It's like "hey let us coordinate our cunning plan to sneak around and flank the enemy OH SHIT THEY'RE ALL HERE HOW DID THEY KNOW" it's just a dumb setting to set that to, is all.

Also I think the main selling point of playing Medic is feeling completely superior to and more important than basically everyone else on your team.

The close second is people being annoying dicks and then watching them get set on fire and not doing shit about it.

This is exactly why i NEVER want to play a game with you fifth. You would just let everyone burn. Plus back stabbing the guy that can kick you out of your internet haunt would not be smart.

I rather like all talk servers. It makes for interesting conversations between teams (mostly ending up with the lines "No! YOUR A HOOKER!" some where in there) and if you do it right you can fake out the team by saying a strategy that your team isn't doing or by saying "NOW SPY!" (hilarity ensues- especially if you do it so often they dont check and get backstabed!) with all talk you learn how to strategize with your teammates with out actually saying anything. (so if your good enough you know when to do something for your team with out them asking (aka take out the sniper before the rush. Put a sentry up by the sniper's roost. things like that)

Eh maybe but I wish there was like, V was team voicechat and then B was allchat for if you wanted to holler at the other side. It's just like, in a game that's so team/strategy-oriented it seems like it'd be more interesting/fun if both sides could coordinate their shit properly, which would be facilitated if you weren't simultaneously filling the other guys in on shit.

Yeah i wish that their was a all talk with teamtalk option in TF2. maybe if we get enough people to send emails?

Yeah alltalk is pretty bullshit.

Back when milestone 3 was all medic achievements, I did some achievement grinding to get kritzkrieg, and I wound up with a highest medic score that's 20 times bigger than the highest score for any other class. I leave it like that because I am at least 20 times as useful playing medic as with any other class.

Psh, it ain't no thang. This particular topic was spawned by some matches he and I were playing against each other in, both of us medics carrying our respective teams by our lonesome. Fifth had like one guy on his team that wasn't a total dumbfuck though so they won most of the time. I enjoyed mowing down the occasional spy who thought disguising himself as me would be a totally great idea, at least.

After Fifth left, though, I sawed the shit out of their replacement medic, ubered a pyro, and we won like 4 seconds later. Then I left. Good times.

Anyway yeah, apparently alltalk being off is supposed to be the default setting but I have yet to find a server that doesn't have it on since I started playing. I mean, the loss of tactical ability alone is bad enough, but sometimes I just don't want to hear my other team, like earlier this evening when some kid kept screaming at me in what I think must have been Korean everytime I killed him. That would have been an experience I wouldn't regret having missed.

POS (and fifth), look for studio rumble one, and when you find it add it to your favourites and never play on any other server. That's what I do. They recently started turning alltalk on Thursdays but otherwise they leave it off.

Since we're talking medics I'll throw in that I've found like the second or third most useful skill a Medic can have is super-quick Blutsaugering the fuck out of a spy any time you catch a whiff of one because you're generally that little bit behind the action where they like to pop up or let their disguise falter and seriously nobody else ever pays attention to that shit (you'd think when you are on a team with four pyros that one of them could be on top of that shit but nooooooooooooooooooooooo).

In addition, I've found that a surefire giveaway is when you heal someone and they actively do a "thanks" macro (not just the automatic response you get when you heal anyone, of course), because almost no one on your team is ever gonna thank you for shit.

Also, pyro is one of the worst classes to be disguising as, because going more than two seconds without blowing some fire around makes it pretty obvious that you are not a real pyro.

These are things that get you a face full of needles.

Man spies are perfect ubersaw victims. They're like a resource, you should be harvesting those suckers.
