It doesn't take a genius to change a video card. Just look up what type of sliot it has. then search on Newegg for one that is in your budget and is more powerful then the one you have (some times you should break your budget just to put a better card inside for once and for all)....but when you put it in make sure you have ether a Anti static strap or your skin is touching the case at all times when your hand is inside of it.....

This ignores if he either has a pre-built computer (which just about everyone does at one point or another) or doesn't have the money to replace the video card.

on rebuying the game and updates. Microsoft worries companies will release unfinished games and just give out content later, which honestly can happen, so they force them to charge for content, which probably isn't the best solution. Valve wants to keep costs down so they are releasing the updates in two or three massive packages.

However each will cost about 10 bucks, in the end you will be paying the same, if not more for the updates then if you just bought the game on PC and got the updates for free. Thats why I bought it. I wasn't gonna wait around for updates when I can pay less and get them right now

The PC games are just so far superior to console it's not even funny.

I was contemplating this with Oblivion. But my family computer is such a heap of junk that it's not worth putting any money into at all. Also, I'm saving for my own place. Anyway, I'll try to re-install and see if I can't get it working.

just upgrade things one at a time, most games you just need RAM and graphics card. Invest in a higher end one so it will last you awhile. Heck nearly none of this computer is original anymore.
