CoH Discussion
Damnit. I didn't realize you couldn't access the 3-day head start without the retail version (which I didn't attempt to pick up until today). Guess I'm starting with everyone else.
Anyway, this board can be used to chat about anything pertaining to the CoH world. Experiences, group forming, etc... When I actually join (tomorrow at about 7:00 p.m.) my in-game name will be BobtheMercenary and my server will be Guardian. Hope to see you all there :D |
my ninja kaemon is either on justice or guardian. I can't remember which, I just hit lvl 14 tonight and was jumping around town with super jump and having a blast. Hit the ceiling on quite a few areas.

*whimper* i've got to get this game, but i cant untill friday.
ill have to start a guy on guardian so i can cruise with you guys, although i think a bunch of people from Earth and Beyond are gonna be on Infinity or Virtue or something. not that it matters since we can have 8 characters per server. |
Correction, I could have played the game on the three-day head start with just the pre-order disc. Stupid me. Well, I have work so I'll be on at about 7:30 or 8:00 tonight with two of my friends. I hope I can eventually get up there in the ranks.

So what would you guys recomend as a first character: an assult rifle/energy controll blaster, an empathy/telekinesis defender, or an earth defence/battle axe tanker?

I ordered mine online, so it should be arriving tomorrow, at the latest. Im gonna start with a martial artist/regeneration scrapper, on the justice server. If the name isn't taken, I'll be the account Andy or Andyisme, and character named Harbringer. Don't you punks take it!

Little tips. Energy as a secondary for a blaster gives a worthless power as it's starting. Devices gives a ton of good secondary moves for a blaster.
If you go martial arts/regen scrapper, At level 6 pick up a secondary that boosts you defense. This is important because regen doesn't give you a bonus to your defense for quite a few levels I'm a level 14 scrapper katana/regen, and if it wasn't for my combat jumping i picked up at level 6, I would have died countless times soloing at level 12. since your going regen, you get passive end regen(which is awesome and the best ability i've found in this secondary line so far), I'm always the last one to run out of end in my groups and i only have two powers with end reduction on them freeing up space for damage and time reduction enchantments to up my damage per second I'm not sure if theprerequisite for super speed gives you a defensive bonus or not, but I know both hover(pre req for flight) and combat jumping(pre req) for super jumping do. You will need at least one if you're gonna stand a chance against whites and yellows |
I was going to get combat jumping at 12, but i guess ill get it at 6 if its so good.

unless you choose jump kick(which isn't really great, I had it in beta, takes too long to preform and doesn't do enough damage). You will defiantly need a form of defense if you don't have a defender in your group, and a form of defense cuts down on resting time for soloing.

Yes! Celebration! I am in! If any of you want to meet or group anytime, just put my name (BobtheMercenary) in your friends list in the Guardian server and talk to me. My guy's dressed in all black with shades. He is a science scrapper and uses a katana.
