I shall be the trippy, edgy, paranoid hacker who looks like he has been electrified one to many times.

Edit - I'd actually rather see this as a long term RP over a one time thing.

Now your just ripping off "Shocker"...

And the last time I made this a long term RP, it died out relativly quickly. Perhaps if you hold onto your characters when WoD finishes up, I'll give a long term SR RP a try. However, I wonder if it wouldn't work better in a sort of episode format, where you get a mission, go on a complete/fail it, then return. After a week or so, a new mission is set up and goes. I don't know, but I have been wanting to run a full fledged SR RP. Maybe I will force everyone to make their own, and everytime I feel like throwing one of these out we can do it with our regular characters. I'll moniter money, and as time passes you can buy new gear, cyberware, vehicles, etc, as you see fit. How does that sound to everyone?

EDIT: I'll even properly fill everyone in on how to play a mage so we can get a well balanced team of hackers and mages with our combat monsters...

Description: Mendel is 5'9" and not what you would expect in a shadowrunner. He wears a normal set of overalls with a blue shirt underneath. His overalls are covered in pockets, and he wears a lined coat that is also covered in pockets on the inside and outside. His hair is grey and for some reason refuses to stay down, giving him a look as if he was just electrocuted. His green eyes usually dart around looking for danger, and the grey stubble on his face looks as if his facial hair just stopped growing part way to a beard. His overall look is mildly crazed although he is a fairly normal shadowrunner... if a little paranoid, and recieving of one to many shocks...

Bio: Mendel is an oddity in the fast paced world of shadowrunning in Seattle. He started off young, coming from the Seattle slums and getting into shadowrunning when he saved up enough for a cyberdeck, some programs, and a datajack. He started off living for the thrill of the Matrix, and all that stereotypical Decker nonsense, but he suffered from a set of poor programs given to him by a friend when he ran the Matrix, and normally got his butt handed to him by advanced security systems. One day he had the very bad luck to run into a nasty Sparky IC while running an Ares computer matrix, and his poor programs failed him one time too many, and the sparky left one fried Mendel when it finished with him...

Surprisingly he survived the encounter, but it made him more than a little jumpy, and more than one person thought he had wired reflexes from how much his hands shake and how jumpy and nervous he always is. Mendel actually became a better Decker from the experience, saving up his money to improve his cyberdeck and programs, and when he got the ability it let him branch out into other fields any good decker should know like non-Matrix corperate security, and other electronics and computer systems, although that too led too a few 'shocking' experiences before he learned the ropes. He aslo know his way around explosives, and can repair almost any machine put in front of him. He heard about all the chaos in Chicago, and decided it was a good place to make some Nuyen, so he found a plane on some less than official grounds that was heading there, and is now on his way.

Extra: His Matrix persona looks just like him, nothing dramatic or amazing. Got most of his cyberware due to paranoia instead of actual use. Also, he know has an extreme fear of Ares, since it was the one that got him with the Shocker, and he is constantly weary of Ares equipment or anything else really...

I see...

Well, when I think hacker, I think of a twitchy paranoid guy with googles. And Dante took the meat tank already, which is what my guy was last time.

Forever Zero 05-04-2004 11:10 PM

You could be a Combat Decker. I don't have the book at hand, but it is basically a decker designed to fight his way into corperations so he can more easily access their computers from the inside instead of having to fend off the massive extra security from trying to hack in from the outside...

I want to be a mage... note: not shaman. Stupid animal spirit worshipping pricks.

Then you would be a mage of the Hermatic school. They are the technical mages, doing their magic through pure force of will/reason. I still have all my old info for the last time I ran this, so all I need to do now is copy out lists of all the equipment, all the Decker programs, and all the Spells, and I think the RP is pretty much ready.

REPOST: Alright, while a Shadowrun RP is in the works, to help ease the non-WoD knowledged, and to help set the stage, Co-GM Dante has set up a mini-RP for us to help get to know the WoD universe, and the background of this specific story better.

REPOST 2: Hmm, does the lack of interest in the Prologue denote a lack of interest in the RP? It seems the introduction to the WoD universe has not gone so well, so are people still interested?

I am, it's just that I don't feel like making a character, so I'm just sitting back and seeing what goes on. Unless of course I have to make a character, but I doubt it's needed that badly.
