So, rage aside, do you guys have any expectations for the next Zelda title up to this point? Nintendo is putting it's bets in Metroid and somewhat too with Mario Galaxy 2. But what about Link? Is the formula no longer working?

I didn't like Twilight Princess, so, yeah, I'm probably passing up on this one too.

EDIT: Unless they fix the control scheme, in which case I'd be at least interested.

He didn't say it'd be the same.

He said he didn't think it would be That radically different.

Those couple of words entirely change the connotation.

Mirai Gen 07-02-2009 10:50 PM

Yeah but that seems like it's sticking to the traditional Zelda formula, which I'm not the fan of. That's what I mean.

Just gimme the sword motions and archery motions of Wii Sports Resort and I'm in again.

Seriously sword fighting is so cool you guys are missing out.

Switches to 3D aside, Zelda games change?

Regulus Tera 07-02-2009 10:58 PM

Majora's Mask is pretty damn different from every other title in the series.

Krylo 07-02-2009 11:00 PM

Not really.

They just replaced one McGuffin with another. It's still go to dungeon, solve puzzles, get McGuffin, repeat.

It just so happens it was masks instead of Triforce in MM.

Majora's Mask places a lot more of emphasis in the storytelling, developing alot of the side characters while implementing a three-day system that forces you to play it in scheduled intervals -many events are time specific, so you must be aware of it at all times. The game also focuses more on sidequests than any other Zelda title (Kafei and Anju's quest being among the most famous in all of video gaming), so much that more than fifty percent of the content is not found in the four main dungeons.
