I was thinking the same thing... (Althouhg not the San Francisco thing... that's information level U. Knowing that would be treason.)
By the way... when can we start?

http://www.random.org/nform.html

Every die you could ever need... for doing rolls and stuff, if you choose to incorporate them.

Personally, I'm a bigger fan of this: http://www.returnergames.com/resources/windice.zip

Pretty easy to use in my book, and has just about any dice roll you need. It's what I use for my online RPGs I've run so far.

Also, this mean your joining the RP krylo, or just helping out with the dice?

It looks interesting, so I'll probably sign up tonight when I get back from work, if I don't pass out from working manual labor 8 hours three days in a row with only about 4 hours of sleep per night... if I do, I'll probably sign up tomorrow.

Umm, I didn't assume we were going to get a lot of stuff. From examples I've seen, parties get a random assortment of equipment, and those that get the good stuff are lucky. I just hope the Computer sees fit to give us Laser Pistols that work and I'll be happy...

Also, I assumed to a degree that if we could provide convincing enough arguments, then what we say would have more impact then our stats. If someone with a 1 in fast talk gives an epic tale of woe, terror, and triumph over his Traitor allies, I would assume you would let it pass, as I would expect a 12 fast talk to fail if he told his superior officer after coming back with his equipment destroyed and his allies dead, "Uhh, they died, and bad stuff happened." I assumed speech would be more about the GM's call then the dice rolls, and the dice would focus on applications of certain technical or combat skills...

On the Secret Society notes, some groups may not give huge amounts of gear or aid, but they are alos less demanding. I would rather some smaller group gives me an easy-ish mission that isn't to hard to pull off with a small, nice bonus, instead of a PURGE mission that says along the lines of "Destroy and entire City Sector, and we'll give you a tank." It's all about checks and balances, and I would rather keep my ssubtle status thank you very much...

That wins over the rules 99 times out of a hundred. The only thing the dice is really useful in Paranoia is to tell when a 20 has been rolled. Critical Failure is rather worse in paranoia than in your average D&D game ya' see. Sorry if I came off as rules-lawyerish there.

No problems, acting Rules-lawyerish happens when you do stat based RPs. Took me a while at least to set the fine line between letting the RPers RP, and getting in the proper rolls.

And I know a little about how failures work in a sci-fi RP... Expect guns blowing up, vehicle blowing up, suits of power armor blowing up, or grenades blowing up if we fail in the use of them...

And I think someone asked it earlier, but I'll ask again, when do we plan on starting this?

CheshireThief 04-30-2004 02:48 PM

Yeah. I asked a while ago. I don't know how this affects things, but I won't be in the dorm room this weekend. I might not be able to get online at all, so either have someone else run my character, or let me join in the game late if it starts tonight, tomorrow, or Sunday (I'll be able to play Sunday night though.)
