Drakengard

I recently Rented this game and found it was quite addicting with a new style of gameplay For those of you who have seen the commercials and played this game please tell me what you think of it

They say that Drakenguard is a dynasty warrior FF version by Square Enix. I still want to try it out but i'm too poor...

I borrowed it from my brother, and you guys are all right in your own ways: Yes, the game is addicting. Yes, the game is extremely reminiscent of Dynasty Warriors.

Really, what it kind of does is mix Dynasty Warriors and Panzer Dragoon. There's on ground fighting sections where you kill hundred upon hundreds of enemy troops ala Dynasty Warriors, and there's in-flight sections where you shoot down enemies on dragonback ala Panzer Dragoon. The dragon parts are only slightly fun, from my experience, but the Dynasty Warrior-esque sequences are quite well done, perhaps better than the DW series itself.

The story isn't really up to the normal FF/RPG par, so I wouldn't say it has anything similar to Final Fantasy in it. The plot's still alright though, enough to keep you interested when you're not worrying about killing guys.

I've played it and gotten 4 of 5 endings (not going to spoil them)
Yeah its alot like playing DW, Later missions have 1000+ enemies to kill. One of the good things about this is its like an RPG. I could kill everyone and lvl up, and get a new weapon, or just run straight to the targets.

Also the plot while not Final Fantasy deep, breaks away from the steryoipical in place. Everyone in the game is goth, but not a depressed goth, more of a psycho goth "must kill." The characters all have some tragedy that has befallen them leaving for intresting personality quirks. For example the main character is hellbent for revenge and really bloodthirsty want to kill all one thousand of the enemy no matter the odds. One of the more intresting characters Arrioch's children were killed and now shes some psycho jack the ripper and wants to kill all children she sees

Why get the knock off? The next part to Dynasty War is comming out in a few days (MAY 2) Samuri Warriors and will be just as addicting and much better then dracengard.

Huh my best amount of kills in DW3 is 2008 and I have a friend who has 3000 kills in a level and there is lvs in 4 so how else is the game not a dw + PD (panzer dragoon) clone

High: He wasn't saying that made it any different. He was just saying it was nice that they put in a levelling up feature so that if you wanted to actually stand around and kill all the enemies you could and you'd get rewarded for it.

I've heard Samurai Warriors is exactly like Dynasty Warriors to the point that the name change seems really silly. :p

It has a different history

The best game ever would be a dynasty warriors fighting system plus some RTS elements like buying troops and the ability to chose who and where you fight!

KefkaTaran 04-29-2004 08:48 PM

High: A different history/SLIGHTLY different setting, yes. But how much does this really matter in a game like Dynasty Warriors? :p
