Dante's Inferno Has you shoved up Cerberus Ass, yo'll love it!
You know how sometimes we make thread titles joking about silly stuff that has nothing to do with the actual product?
Yeah, this isn't one of those... thread title sponsored by Fiftfiend's New Forum Plan For a Better Forum Future Today: FNFPFBFFT Quote:
So... uh... is this... like... ok? I mean, i'm a little at a loss of words here. Is this what Mature games are supposed to be about? Is this the sort of stuff gamers should expect from their M rated games? ...Does this have anything to do with Dante's Inferno? |
Probably a bit more over the top and not entirely meant to be serious; that is, the developers pushing it as much as they can. Really, though, while ratings are generally pretty fluid just because you got a different guy doing the rating (e.g. identical content labeled Mature in one title might be Adults Only in another), there is a sort of realistic limit on what you expect to find in a Mature title. It's probably not going to be as excessive as you believe, otherwise it would go to Adults Only - if it ever was excessive, yet now rated Mature, it's because they cut out the excessive stuff.
As for what it has to do with Dante's Inferno, probably just this side of nothing. The epic would be westernized and modified so much to adhere to a gory adventure game that about the only thing you can expect to relate to the source material is the names of characters, locations, and the overall story arc. |
this would work if it WASN"T handled by these guys. If it was, like the story, artsy and metaphor drive it could work. But I bet you spend most of the time fighting demons with a magic sword.
And why is it always Cerberus? Christianity has its own hellhounds why do they always see fit to rip off one from another religion, and always the same one. Atleast be original and use Barghest or something |
Cerberus was actually in the book...
The book is loaded with things from Italian/Greek mythology. There's like all these classical giants running around and centaurs and the styx and classical heroes and on and on. |
as I said, its always cerberus
|
Doesn't DI have to do with 7 layers of Hell, an at the final layer, a three headed Satan chews on Judas?
|
and two other guys. Dante believed betrayal was the worst sin
|
There were nine, and several were subdivided. The circle for the violent, for example, contained three.
