They didn't buy them so much as pay for them to stay afloat. I think they're going to remain relatively independent, much like Squaresoft and Enix.

Who Cares man, Materia Raider is an awesome idea. I totally would play that game in a heart beat.

The only issue I have with it is that it's probably going to play like a Tomb Raider game, which is to say that Yuffie is going to handle like a blue whale on a single roller skate. She deserves better than that.

Not really. She's an annoying bitch. We deserve more than that though.

Next up they could make a game involving Barrett in a God of War style! and a Flight Sim with Cid!

What kind of game could Nanaki star in?

I always imagined him in an action platformer than made good use of his animal agility and jumping. So sort of like DoC, only better and more creative.

Edit: The idea would be for him to travel the world in search of more of his own kind, since the end of 7 shows him running with pups. Along the way, he can meet all sorts of other things, like maybe Moombas and Moogles and such.

Tifa can star in a castlevania style game. That just leaves Cloud without his own Video Game.

This is also the same game where Hojo wants to make Aerith and Nanaki make babies together since they're both the last of their kind. Based on that, the laws of biology are super-fucked in their world, and Nanaki's pups probably sprouted out of his head or some shit.

Alternative Theory: The people writing FF7 were high the entire time. Or suffered from mild retardation.

I think you're forgetting that Hojo was used to making genetic abominations. My thought is that rather than having them mate and watching in a big, semi-public room with a glass jar in the center, the thing was supposed to be a machine that did genetic doohickeys with SCIENCE! and it just got lost in translation somehow. Or at least I hope, because the implication that he'd think a lion/wolf/hyena-thing (they never really do break down and say what he is) would gladly get it on with a person who is for all intents and purposes human and vice versa is incredibly disturbing.

Edit: It's also implied that Cloud is an Ancient, mostly at the very end, but also earlier on at the City of the Ancients if you activate a few blue glowing balls, because he makes a reference to hearing garbled speech that is very similar to what Aeris says when she hears similar. I'm saying that I think there's either some translation error involved or maybe Hojo is just plain wrong.

Yes, by injecting them with somebody else's cells, irradiating them, and calling them clones. I have little to no faith in Hojo's science.

And people wonder why I don't like the game.
