How Fighter Survives Knives to the Head.

It just occurred to me why Fighter is able to survive constant head knifing by BM. You see BM's dagger is probably an athame (aka. Spell Blade). In all fantasy games/RPGs these weapons are great for focusing magical energy, but they melee for shit.

So while BM is logging his knife deep within Fighter's brain juices, its probably only doing about 10hp damage to him, and Fighter (who is probably dumb enough to just stack stam) most likely has an HP pool well over 100k.

See, it all inadvertently makes sense.

It's been all but spelled out that Black Mage is weak and Fighter is made to soak up damage (and his brain isn't one of his vital organs). There's no need to bring spell blades or anything into it. Might as well say his skull is probably coated in adamantium.

That and perception is 9/10ths of reality.

Fighter's small mental capacity makes perceiving a knife in his head beyond his ability.

Eh. Some people just like to come up with explanations for things that really don't need explanations. When you get right down to it, Fighter survives multiple head stabbings because it's funny. We accept that Red Mage casts Life 2 on himself--repeatedly--while admitting himself that he doesn't know how to cast Life 2. Or that Black Belt could actually get lost through time and space. We don't need epileptic trees for those. (TV Tropes warning)

BM's aim is so bad, he actually misses fighter's head completely and stabs the air. However, from our point of view, fighter appears to get stabbed.

Fighter plays along and falls over so BM doesn't feel sad.

I just assumed fighter was like the Great Damaramufrom Dragon Half and he posses a "Compact Brian".

Adamantium skull and an apparent healing factor.....Fighter is Wolverine!

Heh. Now I can't help but thinking of Fighter with three swords straped to the back of each of his hands.
