Hats!

Okay, so first off, I fully admit that I am starting this thread to see if anyone knows a good, cheap online hat store. Specifically, I'm looking for a wide-brimmed fedora or similar hat for around $20 or less. That said, this seems like a fine opportunity to have a thread for the discussion of hats in general and the wearing thereof.

BAM
dig it, good stuff, My fro sorta prevents me from a lot of hat wearing, so enjoy it double for me.

Actually someone wanna hit me with a good mockup of a Rorschach hat? I'm making a halloween costume.

His coat would be nice too if you didn't mind.

I read the title and the first thing to come to mind was Selfish's knitting. Not a fedorah, well, maybe if you paid enough, but a penis hat probably wouldn't be out of the question. XD

Don't worry, you'll be the ONLY Rorschach this year man. :p

Edit: Hey, does that site have Sombrero's? I didn't see any in a quick search. I'd love an absolutely massive sombrero. Like, umbrella-sized.

You might be equally thrilled and disappointed. Actually I'd hit up a thrift store or something for the coat. That way it will likely look very used already.

The mask they have on that site looks awful. I'd try modifying this. Don't cut out the nose and mouth holes, make the eye holes round and design the pattern so you can cover them with white or black mesh, and you're good to go. (White might cover up the holes better from a distance.)

Mirai Gen 08-07-2009 04:24 AM

I already got somewhere to go with the mask, local comic shop has a nice one that's an actual pull-over mask with the appropriate shades and a pair of eyeholes that I can easily stitch up if need be. However I'm planning on going to work with this so that might not happen.

The coat I did check out at a thrift store but the one I have is so ploddingly understocked I couldn't find anything for the life of me for the coat or hat. The fedora is at least a step in the right direction, and I think I'll shoot for that.

Is it just a brown trenchcoat, so to speak?

Archbio 08-07-2009 03:52 PM

A hat without feathers isn't much of a hat at all.

Is that so.

Yeah, pretty sure it is.

My logic broke.

Lets settle for fur hats?

krogothwolf 08-07-2009 04:00 PM

Where does one by a hat such as this? I have costuming ideas that this could work with.

krogothwolf 08-07-2009 04:09 PM

I actually saw one kinda like that at the Calgary Stampede Native American art area. so I guess. Native Americans?

You'd be hard pressed considering they're both endangered and the symbol of America, giving them double legal protections.

krogothwolf 08-07-2009 04:10 PM

Thats pretty much why I looked Blue, I thought you Yankees would love to see a Bald Eagle hat!

Meister 08-07-2009 04:19 PM

Whelp, my humorous mock suggestion sucks now. Well played.
