Kairith sighs. "No commission can be delivered until my foe has fallen; perhaps before he wiped out my entire city on a whim, I could have payed in advance. But it should not matter; my foe is wealthy beyond your dreams- his sword alone, what with the enchantments and the crystal blade, must be worth a fortune- and there are billions of people scattered across several planes of existance willing to pay for this monster's death. So you needn't worry about money."

"You must take me for a fool, what proof have you? if you expect me to make a commitment based on legend and word of mouth you must be insane." He chuckles quietly to himself. "I must rest now, perhaps I shall see you all tomorrow" with that he bought a room and climbed the stairs to go to sleep.

"I can show the riches amassed in his castle, riches that by the law of the land may not fall to any man while the Dark Lord still lives. But were he to die, this wealth would fall to whoever slayed him. But not tonight. In the morning. I too must turn in."

He goes to the inkeep and scrounges up from a nearly empty pouch enough coppers to rent a small room for the night.

The "old man" in the corner watched the proceedings and decided to stay the night in this town. So, when he had finished his mead, he got up and walked out of the door. When he got to the forest overlooking the inn, he put up a tent, drew a circle around it and started chanting. When he had finished he pulled the sleeping bag out of the tent and unfolded it. They get kind of wrinkled when they're folded into little squares. He got into the bag and then into the tent and went to sleep.

is anyone else still playing?

Waking up early in the morning, Zaid waits outside the entrance. Not having any other prospects for profit he decides to investigate the outrageous claims made by the odd Kairith.

As day breaks, the "old man" wakes up and starts preparing for the day ahead. As soon as he had stored his tent and sleeping bag away in his small pack, he climbed up into the forest and pulls out a small crossbow and loads it with one bolt. He walks silently through the forest until he sees a rabbit, and then he stops. He pulls the crossbow up to eye level and takes aim. He fires, nailing the rabbit, but missing the brain, so the rabbit starts to try to hop away. Being hindered by the sudden growth in it's side, the rabbit can no longer run away as easily as it once could, so he chased it down and cut it's head off. He brought it back to camp and gathered some wood to build a fire with. As soon as the fire was blazing strong, the rabbit had cooked sufficiently, so he ate it, while watching the inn down below.

Kane sat in the commons room, gently playing his guitar, waiting for Kairinth. Ben had been adament about not leaving this morning for some reason, and Ben was pretty smart. Thusly, Kane had decided to see what this man had to offer.

Kairith walked out of his room on the upper floor, moving briskly.

"For those who wished to see the treasures I spoke of last night, follow me." He begins walking towards the woods, not even glancing back to make sure that someone is following him. At the high pace Kairith sets, the walk is about 10 minutes. He finally stops at some sort of temple in the woods and walks in.

Inside are six priests and priestesses, each wearing robes of a different color: white, lavender, yellow, blue, red, and black. They turn attentively to Kairith when he walks in (followed by any others), but do not speak.

Kairith however, does speak. "I need to go to Darkhold in Reth, in the Realm of Darkness-- preferably as close to Darkeep as you can get me."

The priestess in black silently turns to a raised area and speaks in some ancient tongue; a dark purple glow seems to tear a hole in the air; the hole is spread open to reveal the interior of a castle. This castle is all made of black marble, with a few windows set high in the 100-foot tall walls. The corridor is wide enough for thirty people to walk side by side. Kairith gestures absentmindedly at anyone behind him (regardless of whether anyone actually followed him to the temple) to follow, and walks through the portal.

Seeing that the man he had been listening to last night was leaving the inn and walking into the forest, the "old man" moves out of sight and follows from the shadows of the forest. Standing outside of the temple-like building, still hidden in the brush, he hears the conversation that ensues. "Hmmmm....maybe I should keep an eye on these people." said the odd "old man." He decided to wait and see if anyone else was following this man.
