All Your Base Are-- WHAT THE HECK?!
 

Recently, I have encountered the phrase "All Your Base Are Belong To Us" several times. What I'd like to know is: What's it mean?!

it is funny because it is wierd

Basically, it was a line from a poorly translated Genesis game called Zero Wing. I don't know a ton about it other then it's origin. I really don't know how it became such a huge internet fad...

its kind of sad when you're just about 22 (at least in my case), and you're complaining about these young whipper snappers who dont know nothin' about nothin'. but seriously, this all went down just three years ago, and even my parents know about All Your Base. so unless someone just escaped from Amish country i'm not sure how they were able to avoid hearing about it before.

Yeah, everyone at my Jr. High School was palying this on the school computers about three years ago. Then I found Slime Volleyball, and everyone copied started doing that. Later, I discovered 8-bit theater, and lo and behold, history repeated itself again.
