Dante's Inferno: One more circle one more hell
So... EA is sending game reviewers a $200 check in the name of the circle of Greed. Reviewers could cash it or they could keep it.
But not Kotaku... they Burn it on Youtube. Somehow thinking this would nullify all senses of Greed and set the ball on EA's court forcing them to be "greedy" by keeping the cash, or being noble by donating it. So... EA takes another point in the Douchebag marketing scale. And Kotaku also gets one. Why Burn it? Why not simply Auction this one-of-a-kind collectible (which would turn more than $200 for sure) and then donating THAT cash. Thus turning the greed of one into the charity of many. |
I didn't get one. :(
I feel discriminated against. |
I'm pretty sure I reviewed something once. Where's my cheque, EA? WHERE'S MY FUCKING MONEY!?
|
At least there's no hookers involved this time.

I saw this video earlier today and I thought it was so incredibly stupid of him to burn it. He could ahve kept the cheque and not have cashed it or given it to a charity or even send them back.

honestly this seems more like a thinly veiled attempt to, litterally, buy good reviews

I honestly really want to like Dante's Inferno but their marketing PR is reminding me of good old Acclaim. "Let's advertise on tombstones!"
Tycho pointed that out and I really couldn't believe I didn't think of it until then. |
