I...wha...birthers! Gah! *Aneurism*

No really, this is the last straw. I quit. I'm out. I'm done. Nothing can restore my ruined view of humanity. :gonk:

Quote:

Birthers have now decided that what makes a person a true, blue, red-blooded American is not the color of your complexion but how much foreskin you have.

Commenters (and circumcised Americans) over at Free Republic struck on a revelation yesterday: if Barack Obama has not been circumcised, then he must not have been born in the United States. Why? Because all of their boys were circumcised.

Obama is the ultimate threat to traditional white male power, a black man who has risen to the highest position in government. He has gone through a number of racial stereotypes, from the "magic Negro" to Felix the Cat. It seems like it was only a matter of time before the racial stereotypes surrounding black male sexuality would emerge. The root of this movement is increasingly showing itself to be rooted in white insecurities.

The Freepers may have also been inspired by actual news. U.S. officials are currently considering making circumcision routine as a potential means of preventing HIV/AIDS (Medicaid doesn't currently cover circumcision). They have been examining studies in Africa that show circumcised heterosexual men have lower HIV infection rates, but these studies don't cross over to men who have sex with men. Gay men tend to be more than half of new HIV infections in the United States, so making circumcision mandatory may not actually result in lower infection rates.
There is no discussion to be had here. I'm only sharing my pain with you all and lamenting the depths our society can delve.

That may be the narrowest worldview I've ever seen. And whether he is or isn't wouldn't prove anything better than the records we have now.

I'm guessing these people having this deep and serious discussion on the status of Obama's penis really haven't had a lot of exposure to the real world.

Vridis' avatar is the best reaction I can possibly have.

While I believe some doctors were recommending circumcision at one time I don't think they're doing it anymore, nor does every male born in the United States get circumcised, nor have they always been, even at the times when doctors were recommending it, or whatever. It's an argument that makes no real sense whatsoever.

And what about partial circumcisions, eh?

By the way, they demanded that Obama post his birth certificate on the internet, which he did. Does that mean they want him to post his...?

I think they're insane as usual. Hopefully this finally makes it obvious to everyone, even conservatives.

EDIT:

"Despite some controversy, it also has been widely practiced in modern times, especially in the United States, as a sanitary measure believed to give some preventive advantage against penile cancer and sexually transmitted diseases (studies have shown it to be associated with a significant reduction in the risk of HIV transmission, particularly among heterosexuals). Since 1971, when the American Academy of Pediatrics stopped recommending routine infant circumcision, the number of circumcised infants in the United States has slowly declined, although it is still above 60%."

So, uh, yeah, if this is actually worthy of knowing. In any case, even though Obama was born prior to 1971 there were still lots of people who were not circumcised.

Anyway. If he isn't circumcised, he's from Kenya, if he is circumcised, he's a Muslim. So I don't think it really matters which he is because the Birthers will read into it what they will.

And I mean, seriously, they want to know whether or not the President of the U.S. is circumcised or not? I mean, seriously? Why would anyone want to know that? On any planet in any universe?

Blaming all of humanity for Birthers is like blaming the very concept of government for the failures of Republican leadership between 2000 and 2008.

krogothwolf 09-10-2009 07:24 PM

I guess he'll have to bare it all to get relected. The Full Monty Presidential race anyone? I think that will either drive away the debate viewers or increase the number, im not sure yet.....

Wigmund 09-10-2009 07:55 PM

How can anyone take this seriously? It's almost as loony as Glenn Beck's obsession that Obama is going to send death squads after him.

What this should do if the internet can run with it is start a meme about Obama's Wang.

krogothwolf 09-10-2009 08:14 PM

well you now they are still crazy by insinuating gay sex = hiv/aids

Kim 09-10-2009 08:36 PM

Dude, they still think gay sex equals HELL. HIV/AIDS is the least of our concerns.
