So I downloaded the Red Alert 3 Demo
 
What was I thinking I have never not purchased an RTS after playing the demo.

I have paid money for a game in which someone says "prease" because they are supposed to be Japanese. Why do RTS demos hold this unholy power over me?

You should buy this game for its sheer campiness factor. It has fucking Tim Curry playing the Premier of the USSR, it has JK Simmons playing the president of the United States, and it has a bunch of other famous actors and actresses.

Plus, the actual game is a ton of fun. Buy it, it's my favourite RTS ever. Also it's like 30 bucks now.

EDIT: Also, why is your text green? When did you make this decision and why?

I think he should be made whatever the opposite of a mod is.

It's easy to miss, but I did say that I had already paid for it. 11% downloaded ATM.

Be my co-op partner in the campaign.

RE: edit Fifth made me a Synkripoffvatar in the avatar thread and I couldn't very well use it without ripping off Synk as much as I could.

Best level ever is the one at Mount Rushmore. I'll co-op with you later if you want, I have it on my laptop. I would just need about 10 minutes to head on over to the library to steal good internet access.

I only have dial up at the moment (/cringe) but the local library leaves their wifi on at night so its actually a common sight for people to be parked outside the library at 2 am playing WoW and even wirelessly LANing some games.

Starcraft and Halo are popular and if you roll up they will even lend you the CD to install the game so you can join in. Its pretty fucking cool and I wish people did this in my hometown.

Even at ~300kbps it's gonna take longer than that to finish installing this thing. I just saw 30% tick by.

I'm concerned that the allies campaign is going to boil down to vindicator spam. CnC bombers are just too good against AI turtles, which is what 90% of RTS campaign missions are.

EDIT: Oh wait you mean 10 minutes from when I ask, not 10 from right now.

Yeah, the Allies have the superior air force, and a group of 12 or more of them can reasonably be tasked to take out any building in one or two salvos.

Downloaded the demo. Turns out I'm laughably bad at this game. Intro movie with Tim Curry was interesting, though. Why did Einstein turn to dust? And the Empire of the Rising Sun's invasion fleet was awesome.

Personally I feel the whole game was overrated. It's boring.
