Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (I HAVE CHORTLES)
Got the game a day early. Some stuff:
I stopped playing Chrono Trigger DS for this and I don't think I'll go back to it until I finish it. In case you are wondering, it's Wal-Mart who broke the street date. |

You're still playing Chrono Trigger DS? |
I never started it. I only bought it because I found it new for ten bucks, and I felt guilty for all those times I played Trigger on emulators.
The fake Italian gibberish is still awesome, by the way. Much better than SUPAAAMARIOOOOOGALAXYYYYYYY cry of anguish. |

Anyway, this game looks cool, but since I am inbetween jobs atm, I can't play it =( |
"Mario!" "Wegee!" "BAAAAAAAAAABIES!"
I might check this out. How much does it differ from Partners in Time (which I very quickly lost interest in), anyway? |

Impressions from the Japanese audience make it seem as better than Superstar Saga. I'm optimistic. |
Is it still a jRPG with smaller numbers sorta like Paper Mario?
|
Fawful was never gone in the first place. He just had a minor role in Partners.
I want this game a lot, but I've been waiting far longer for Scribblenauts. So Bowser Tiem will have to wait. |

You say it as if it were a bad thing. Quote:

That's news to me. |
Okay, so Fawful is one of my favorite characters ever, and I was buying the game just for him. The Original Superstar Saga was honestly only an okay game for me, but damn I am loving this one.
The sheer crack that is Mario Universe just keeps on making me laugh. Getting to play as Bowser is hilarious, he has some great lines and every time he yells "I RULE," I crack up. But I bought the game for Fawful, and Fawful I got. I mean honestly. "A winner is you." Every silly line just gets me squealing at how amazing and ridiculous it is. |
I bought Scribblenauts and Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story at the same time.
I haven't played a Mario RPG since the original Squaresoft variation. I honestly thought I'd be enjoying Scribblenauts a lot more than this game. ...I don't know if I've ever laughed so much while playing a video game than while playing Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. Calling this game "hysterical" would be an understatement. It is side-splittingly, oh-god-it-hurts hilarity. And I'm only about an hour in. "Did someone just page the king of awesome?" |
Get Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga as soon as you finish this one, Snake. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is one of the best JRPGs ever, too, though you might want to play the N64 game first.
Anyway, I'm almost getting to the endgame (Levels 21-25). My only complaint so far is the use of the microphone for the giant Bowser battles, especially the third one. |
Yeah the Mic portions were poorly thought out in my opinion, they could have been implemented differently but it came out clunky.
Fortunately, that's the only clunky part of the game I've encountered, and I'm in the upper teens as far as levels go. This game is amazing, glad I picked it up. |
I finished the game yesterday. The final of Bowser vs. Dark Bowser and Mario&Luigi vs. Dark Star'd Fawful was greatness, and the dialogue.. MM! So damn good! I was at level 30(I fought every monster I saw) with the badge for 2x attack, and with that and the jump helmet with a critical I get often from pumping Stache, I get 1000 damage. Pretty much wasted everything I fought.
|
As soon as the stack of games I have to finish winds itself down I will get this game. Swear to god. It is one of the few JRPGs of this year that I'm especially interested in.
|
Watched a gameplay video. Looked pretty sweet, and the active battle system is interesting. Maybe I'll play through this completely without BAAAAIIIBEEEEES to have to worry about.
|
Awwwwwwwwwwww at the ending. <3
So what kind of post-game content is there available? I already beat the shroobs. I just don't wanna finish with this title already. :( |
