What wouldn't you name your kids?

Just what it says. What name would you hate having you kid have?
Male: Dick, Rupert, anything that ryhmes with lots of insults
Female: Bunny, Crystal, any name that sounds like a stripper name gems and spices mostly

Female: Candy, Misty, and also agree nothing that sounds like a strippers name, no old lady names like Prudence or Clarence

Male: Chuck, Ralph, Hewey or Vomit lol

All the above, for me as well. Also, for male, Louis (the French already ruined that name for me) and the name Brett.

I wouldn't name a son Bruce, Lance, Kip, Julien, or Dirk. I wouldn't name a daughter anything. Let the wife name the girls.

Dragonsbane 05-02-2004 06:22 PM

Brenda or Bertha, I would NEVER give my daughter a name like that.

for sons........probably Clarence or Piggy

Muffin Mage 05-02-2004 06:34 PM

Yea, verily. Piggy is never a boy's name.

I would never, ever give a child a name from anything D&D related. Ever. Not even the least little bit.

I'll name my kid anything.

1) Since that name will most likely suck, the burden of naming the children will be taken off my shoulders.

2) It's not my name, why should I care?

Jack of Spades 05-02-2004 06:41 PM

Some DnD names can be good. I'd say avoid the obvious ones. Drizzt, Elminster, Lolth, you know the ones that you get by reading the back of the novels. If you pick a more obscure one it could work. Because a lot of the names sound nice and cool without needing to make up letters. I'd say avoid giving them elven names.

I would tend to avoid names which are phonetically close to insults in any language. Kids can be cruel.

Just teach your kids better insults then what those little 7 year olds come up with using rhymes.
