I have to agree with fifth on the moderation thing. I was able to skip over the darkest moments of the newbie faze when I first jumped into the internet primarily through lurking around and catching others mistakes. In the end the tombstones that serve as the evidence of moderation serve as lessons to folks who may not understand or do not know the rules fully as of yet.

Though I figure the infatuation with fifth comes from presence, reputation, and suitability. No matter where you are, he is around and posting which comes to his reputation which is of a creature who abuses his mod powers here and there, but not for malicious intent as much as comedic intent, and regardless of what thread he is in he will always fit a suitable place in it. In here for example when he first arrived he posts a smiley that would make people giggle for a bit. Then switched off to a more serious tone when stating an actual opinion about moderation which could lead to proper discussion if inspired.

So he isn't always a joke, but he can be funny. He isn't always a mod(in spirit), but he can keep order. And I guess the versatility is attractive...

Maybe attractive is the wrong word.

I consider it a sign of overall improvement in forum quality that this is the first thread to get all weird about me in a while now.

People here tend to have a sense of humor, and the population seems to cycle every 2 years where we keep a handful of people and then people drop out of existence. It keeps things fresh. Also we aren't allowed to discuss things like Religion or really any topic where it's Opinion > Fact. Plus everyone here seems to have a similar line where we all lose faith in humanity collectively.

Also We have a thread dedicated to Forehead Genitalia.

We're both Spoiled in that we have a great community, and we're mature enough to not ruin it.
