Voice acting isn't bad at all, and for the most part the graphics are pretty good. I'm still baffled at yellow being a party of the military's color scheme, but what can you do?

The whole Fal'Cie and l'Cie thing is starting to remind me of the racism/discrimination plots from numerous Tales of titles.

CG Lip-sync is baaaaaaaad. Everything else sounds cool. I like the different accents.

I got really annoyed with the fan reaction about this trailer being "over dramatic" or "full of angst"... but you know what? Fuck them. I thought the trailer set things pretty well... this story seems a fuckton more human.

Sure, it's filled head-to-toe with j-Writing. But for god sakes it's a JRPG!!

So far, the whole thing of Lightning trying to become more of a motherly figure to her sister (to the point of Fading her own personality out), Sazh's basically going all out just for the sake of his son, and Snow trying to deal with his personal issues while handling a bigger picture, attracts me.

Changing your name to be a different person or whatever the hell Lightning's talking about is kinda dumb, I think. Also, why Lightning over any other name? This is the result of giving a character a name that is not a name, and trying to justify it after the fact.

Sazh is still pretty cool in my book though, and I love his character design.

I think the young boy whose name I have forgotten sounds like Vaan, but RT disagrees.

Well, to be fair, so far i think lightning's reputation in the game will strongly depend on whether Serah is annoying or not trough the course of the game... because she was presented as her connection to the whole story and the sole reason why Lightning is there anyway...

For all the melodrama, I think Sazh was nailed. He really sounds like the most mature in the team.

Also, lol at the shit random passerbies say. "Carbuncle is so cute! I want a plushie of it."

I bet her real name is Cloud.

c'mon, that Serah was nailed it's a given... the high point of the game is probably near the end when Snow finds out that she is pregnant or something like that...

EDIT: Yep, 24 years and my vision has gone to hell... misread that.

There is one thing i didn't like about the gameplay footage i saw though. Most of the time i had the feeling of too much "jarred" enviroments. Sometimes it looked more Metal Gear Solid than anything i would expect from Final Fantasy with a lot of linear places and narrow long corridors.

I dunno, I'm liking this game so far. But I have to wonder how they get captured every three seconds and still survive.

Sazh is my favorite character so far. I mean, Snow is Snow, Lightning is the main character and the other two are kids.

However, I can't help but feel that Sazh dies. He's just giving me that bad vibe and I hope I'm wrong.

Also, that chick who captures Snow around 6:31? I'm thinking playable character.

The name change thing is dumb, but it makes sense.
She said she was young when she changed her name, I am assuming she was a teenager when she did it. Teenagers are silly, a teenager changing her name to Lightning and pretending to be a tough girl seems like something a "normal" troubled teenager would do. Just look at all the goth kids with their vampire names and stuff.
It is stupid, but it's something a teenager would do....

The name Lightning is sort of dumb, but look at the protagonists of other Final Fantasy games; Cloud, Squall, Tidus.....
Lightning is not so bad, it could have been worse.... like "Moon" or "Storm" :sweatdrop

On a unrelated note: The evil black-haired girl, looks pretty cool!! I hope she joins the party .....
