Well since it'll be done within a year or so. We might as well discuss it. Oddly enough, I'm kind of looking forward to seeing it. Yeah it may suck, but they seem to be pretty close to the original story of the game so far. Although I'm not very fond of the new design for the blue bomber. And It's going to be odd seeing him shoot energy shots from his hands instead of using the Mega Buster. Hell they could have gone the MMZ/MMZX route and given him a gun to use and that still would've been okay.

When it comes to Mega Man, this is not a compliment. Unless we could get Pixar to do it. I would be all over that shit.

Oh geez, if Pixar made a Megaman movie I would be the happiest person ever.

Regarding the MMZ series... I always felt it was more closely related to Devil May Cry than Megaman. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. So having a gun-type-gun rather than a mega buster is totally fine.

But I remain skeptical about this fanmade movie. The person who plays Wily plays him EXACTLY as Wily is in the games... which puts me off a little. Game-Wily is just someone to shoot at, but Movie-Wily will require some character development which just doesn't work with that kind of virtual person.

I know I'm not the only one thinking this, but I kinda hope they'll use some ideas from the Protomen's music about Megaman.

While MMZ would work, if you wanted to make a movie out of Mega Man, make it about Mega Man X.

I've been saying this for years; Make it about Mega Man alias "Rock" and Zero as detectives and fighters being used to destroy outbreaks of psychotic reploids dubbed "Mavericks," hence Maverick Hunters. Along the way they find out about a single leader spearheading the operation, Rock's old Hunter friend he thought dead, Sigma. He's got a plan that'll spread Maverick outbreaks all over the world and unite the entire reploid world under his banner, 'cleansing the human infection.' Some of the bosses show up as gang leaders or otherwise. Defect away from Chill Penguin-esque anthropomorphous animals and just make them robots disguised as humans.

Make it an anime movie. If not, everyone's a human with the robot aspect made a mystery. Cut down the oversized Busters and shoulderpieces and ridiculous outfits. Hunters look like normal people - regular robots don't.

It would be fucking amazing.

Get the Casshern Sins people on it. That would be splendid.

I would support this 110% for live action. Hell, I wouldn't even mind a few buster guns and crazy shoulder pads as long as they aren't TOO anime. Remember the Accelerator Suits from GI Joe? Add some slight variations and you've got suits for X and Zero.

...Maybe it's mostly detective work, and the Mavericks have similar suits when fighting (but more over-the-top... like Obadiah Stane's suit in the Iron Man movie) but the suits don't come on until shit gets real. That way it isn't pure mindlessness, but it's still Megaman enough without feeling silly.

In part of the trailer I saw his left arm had converted to the Mega Buster before firing, have they released information saying otherwise?

Edit: Youtube copy of trailer - At 2:30 Megaman fires at camera using megabuster, right before it shows him fighting the Yellow Robot Mater (Cutman?).

The banner on the web site and not seeing any screens of him using the MegaBuster is what made me think they weren't using the megabuster. I'm kind glad they are using the Buster. Yet sad that it looks so low budget. But it is a fan film so I'll give it chance and forgive it.
