I've gotten used to the whole basic lectures on topics I'm familiar with from bluestarultor. French is my first language.

To be serious the problem with french isn't that it's gendered, but rather that it has no gender neutrality anywhere. Anyway that's my feeling. And there are things that aren't systematic or rationalized in both english and french... French is just more complicated for some things. That's how I excuse my written french being poorer than my written english.

Also, with everyone speaking English, I think I can be forgiven for not knowing what all else everyone speaks. For reference, my first language was Italian and I was more fluent in that than English when I was young (I don't remember a word anymore), which probably helped me learn French later on. Actually, I've lost a lot of my French in the past few years from lack of use, as well. Sucks losing languages. :(
