Master of Magic owns and is like CJ in that he owns so hard that I forget about it because recognizing his ownage is on par with staring into the sun, he is an ace dude and has been for as long as I have been here.

I could see Mes doing well with General and News, CJ handling Art and Community, that sort of thing. It would afford the community a definitive go-to person for each area as well as not totally overloading whatever unlucky sod gets the job by having to reign over the forums in their entirety. And then you still have the supermods on call for backup or dealing with bigger fish.

The thing of this is 1. Fenris fucking hated it, I don't blame him for hating it and I can't imagine anyone not hating it, 2. shitty behavior tends to be shitty behavior and inasmuch as a person's judgment about shitty behavior is sound it's gonna tend to be sound whatever the situation.

I mean I kind of agree in that like there should be a supermod who also particularly knows what the fuck is going on with the RP forum and one who particularly knows what the fuck is up with the News Forum and the more Discussionsey General threads but I think strict divisions is kind of balkanizing things.

That Jesus dude should totally be a mod.

Maybe the mod of the Soul and Spirits* subsection.

*Soul music and alcoholic beverages of course.

That fucking kat, Kerensky you and Mes can be avatar mods.

Also who the hell put all those "u"s in Crowd Favorites?

We do it with British spelling because British is best!

Anyway, just thought I'd pop in to say I agree starting a bunch of people as subforum mods is probably a good idea.

At least, I think it would.

Agreed. Not only does it keep the new mods from having too much moderating for one person, it also keeps power in check, making it less likely that it'll be abused.

Personally, if they're going to abuse it, you might as well make it obvious as quickly as possible.

But by the time I was a mod everyone who was rotten was gone so I dunno!

A huge chunk of those rotten people being gone was due to you having good judgment and then me taking like fifty posts to stop being stupid and listen to your good judgment.

I may go back to Godot or Texas Chainsaw Edgar just out of spite for you.

I would almost agree except that it's probably hard to say exactly when a person is "good enough" for a full position. To be frank, almost all of the activity in the social forums are from regular members - there aren't going to be all that many things that require a mod to settle. It'd probably end up that you have a bunch of people as minimods of their little kingdoms, either getting fed up from not being able to use their power or trying so hard to use it that they interpret everything as an infraction.

Plus, if you make someone a mod, they need the little celebration wherein they play with their Mod CP for a bit, and if you do that for a bunch of people at once then IT'LL BE SHINEY ASSHOLE OR SHITFACE TIMES A THOUSAND.
