iTunes can go be anthropomorphized so that it may perform graphic, degrading sex acts

SO ANYWAYS. Damn program "has an error and must close" immediately after being opened. Reinstalling doesn't do jack anymore. Which is to say, it used to be required but is now pointless.
Edit: And obviously, I need help fixing it.

You need help making it work or help anthropomorphizing it so you can perform horrible, horrible hatesex?

I have an irrational hatred for iTunes.
The only way to fix iTunes is to uninstall it. Use SongBird if you really want that interface. I'm personally don't like it, but to each his own.

Is there a reason you really really want/need to stick with iTunes?

iTunes is pretty bad in Windows.

This is assuming the use of Windows. Apologies if it is actually happening on a Mac.

If reinstalling didn't help, you may need to make sure that, upon uninstalling it, all of the registry values are likewise removed when you take it off. It's possible there are remainders that no amount of uninstall/reinstall cycles will affect directly.

It could also be the friends that come along on a Windows install -- Bonjour and the iPod helper apps, for example. In fact, is this happening alongside attempted use of a portable device that syncs with iTunes, or is it just when the media program is used alone?

Well. This is indeed on a Windows XP computer, where it *used* to work. But now, I can't open the program with or without my iPod attached to the computer.

My goal is to sync up more songs with the iPod- is there another program that can do this task or is "Songbird" simply a program for playing music files (which I prefer not to do on the computer at all, just for preference)

And, third point, how do I remove these registry values?

Edit:I tried WinAmp. It's incompatable with the iTouch. I also hate AOL and llamas, so it can go burn in some sort of everlasting hell where wicked nether creatures search the depths of human depravity and creativity for new and more interesting forms of suffering that they can, with demonic precision and enjoyment, perform.

I sadly don't know if SongBird can manage your iPod, may be possible.
Foobar can manage iPods with the right Plugin, but I think the Plugin is not compatible with iPod Touch yet.

If you just want to sync your iPod you may want to try YamiPod it requires iTunes to be installed so I don't know whether it will work for you (because it may just require that specific part of the program that causes crashs). But maybe it's worth giving a try. I don't know if it's Touch compatible yet, though. But last time it checked it was always up to date after a short time.

I got Foobar, and the plugin for iPod Touch. It works, mostly. Only with songs, so it's an easy way to get what I wanted, but if I want video or picture sucks ta be me. It's fine for now, but let's brainstorm an upgrade.

I use Sharepod, which requires Itunes to be installed but never to be used, is minimalistic, and doesn't require an Iphone or Ipod touch to be associated with that computer to put stuff on it.
