A tribute to the ladies
 

Firstly, females don't seem to get enough respect in the world of gaming. Most of them look like bimbos and almost sound like one. So pardon me. I've had a few that were great fun to play a game through. Depending on my laziness factor, I'll probably write more than the first one that I'm doing now. If someone wants to add more go right ahead.

Samus Aran - The first "Femme Fatale." She kicked ass in her armor and no one was the wiser for the longest. Who cared that she looked hot or not? No one knew that she was a "she" and had fun going thru Metroid and whippin' ass. It wasn't until someone had to take on Mother Brain, take her out and get thru the self destruction sequence that someone realizes that this hero they've been playing with was a heroine. I can only imagine the number of people that swore off games because they didn't want to deal with their inferiority complex...

So this goes out to you Samus. Kicking ass and taking names, whether it's in Smash Brothers (CPU controlled Samus is a bitch...) or against space pirates, I shall remember you no matter your gender.

I'd like to put in a good word for Emma Klamsky and Alisa Takemura from Front Mission 3. Both are incredibly intelegent, leading scientists in thier own fields, and they're proficient wanzer pilots too.

I think Femlaes get quite a bit off attention in games myself... But that's because I play mostly Japanese ones and, like in Anime, female heroines are quite common. From Final Fantasy to Fighting Games and various small adventure games starring girls, I see quite alot of girl roles being as big or even above their male counterparts.

I think the point he was trying to make is that while there are no shortages of women in video games, they are all drawn by nerdy horny japanese artists whom have never had a girlfriend in their life and now they are drawing the perfect girl. And while I can't say i would prefer fat ugly bitches to nice, good looking ones, I do agree that women are misrepresented in video games.

that was a big deal when we found out Samus was a woman back in the day. It even refered to her as a him in the manual.

What about Perfect Dark? That was the first FPS with a female in it as a main character.

I give my kuddos to Shion from Xenosaga: Episode 1. Although she's a nerd, and their turning her into a bimbo in the next game, I give her my support.

Yeah.. but in some waays she's still considered a bimbo. (ie. huge cleavage, making guys drool, etc...)

Yeah, I liked Shion as a smart chick, though her backstory ends up being as angsty as anyone elses.

I personally prefer Celes in FFVI. She was strong, caring and just generally a great character. Terra was alright too. And none of them were made as fanservice, which is good.

Lucca from Chrono trigger too, even with the ego (which just makes her more human to me).

whats this with all the girls and stuff i mean there are a lot of girls in games. As for girls in games with big u know thats just to get all thoes horrny geeks that dont get any. So you see its all just to get people to get these games. Unless people changed there views and started to think realy ugly chick where hot. then all there would be is ugly chicks. U know what im saying. Me i like real life girls that are real smart and real mean and will hit me if she wants. <=)
