The Movie Was Better

Okay, everyone is alays ranting about "The book was better." So, let's discuss movie-adaptions in which the movie was better. Or maybe the movie was better than it's book-adaption(the "X-Men: The Movie" novel was adapated from the movie).

Since I haven't read Lord of the Rings, I can't comment on if the movie was better. But anyone else who knows, feel free to throw it on the floor.

All depends on your viewpoint. I think the book was better, because of both all the background info and detail it went into, and I just plain liked how some things turned out better. Case in point, the ending to the movie was retarded if you read the book and know about the Scourging of the Shire. Basically, the book is far more detailed and better for it.

I'm not saying the movies were bad. They rank up there as some of the best movies ever, and I would gladly sit down for a rougly 10 hour marathon to watch all three in a row. The movie got straight to the meat of the books and focused on the scenes where major events are happening instead of just traveling. However, as mentioned, the movies didn't go into detail about how some of the things happend or why they were so (I don't believe the moive explained why the king of Minis Tirith went crazy, but the book explains what happened) and I just didn't like how the movie handled some things (Once again, the ending was just weak).

Basically in my experience, 99% of the time the Book is better then the Movie.

sorry not the movie dune the mini series

Okay. I was about think that your taste in movies was the most god awful in history.

That marathon does kick ass. but the book is still far superior.

now let's do something different.

The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre was far better than the remake. As was the original Dawn of the Dead.

And we're trying to find the 1% of movies that were better than the books.

Here, fine, since I have nothing else, I'll kick this out there: My movie vs. my book. Simply put, my book was a bunch of rough sketching of things that weren't really made for text, and would be better viewed as a movie. A lot of cheographing and stuff. So, once it went to movie format, then it all looked nice.

Besides, I'm sure movies are nice for people who don't like to read or use their imaginaton.

JAD, what the hell? No, this is a thread about movies better than books. Not original movies better than their remakes. Go start your own thread if you wanna discuss original vs. remakes.[/Edit]
