Looks like Batman gave the Joker some Bat-Cancer!

Am I interpreting this correctly in that the game is going to take place outside in Gotham with Arkham Aslyum as the Joker's base of operations, or is Arkham Asylum just that huge? Or Arkham has gotten a lot bigger and encapsulated part of Gotham or something?

I'm pretty sure the entire plot of the game is to find his Bat Anti-Cancer Spray.
Then, as now, I look at this trailer and go, "Why, exactly, is it Arkham Asylum 2?" Can't it just be Batman: Gotham? Or Batman: Return of the Dark Boogaloo?

Because people who don't know video games as well need to be able to stand in the store and go "oh, they made a sequel to that Batman game that was so good."

Cause Batman isn't recognizable enough.

I mean I get what you're saying but gah I hate when developers do this.

Though I don't think that's the only explanation. I mean, we're treated to a faceful of gate reading "Arkham asylum". It's just that this gate and, most likely the wall is it located in encompasses not just an asylum, but several large buildings, most likely a city. More accurately, the kind of city you'd get if the joker played Sim City. So really, I'm not sure what's happening here. Unless Joker enacted a dastardly plot to have the asylum demolished and replaced with several city blocks.

The Joker looks like he was missing a few teeth there and Harley was wearing her nurse's outfit, so I assume it takes place right after Arkham Asylum.

...Oh. Actually if the Titan Formula made Joker all sick and dying would be great.

With or without the disasters you can pile up on the city? xP
