The "good side" of Black Mage?

As you should know, Black Mage's death at the hands of Lich and subsequent takeover of Hell is a reference to FFII. Could this mean that like the Emperor, the unspeakably miniscule iota that comes as close as possible to Black Mage's "good side" has gone to heaven and is planning a takeover there as well?

That "Good Emperor" thing was only in the GBA/PSP remakes, and we have no evidence that Brian ever played Dawn of Souls or anything. Plus, the whole thing made no sense.

And, uh, whoever said it was a reference to FFII?

EDIT: On a somewhat related note, recently I remembered an old theory that killing Black Mage would be the greatest act of Good, hence why he never tries to kill himself (as he would go to Heaven). I thought to myself, "That's ridiculous, Lich killed Black Mage and went to Hell." But then I realized Lich wasn't exactly "killed", he was banished to Hell. Thus, Lich may have, in fact, registered as "Good" at the time. Furthermore, since Sarda killed the Light Warriors multiple times, he should count as, like, Super Good. (I'd say killing Red Mage is about as Good as killing Fighter is Evil, so it's more Good than Evil.)
EDIT2: But then again, he brought them back each time and eventually decided to let them live. That's, like, the worst act imaginable.

Not to mention Sarda is personally responsable for sending them all around the world to wreck their mayhem at the cost of thousands of lives.

And could have changed it all in an instant anyway.

Even if killing Black Mage would be considered a "good" act, Lich had nothing but evil intentions. Hence, he still went to hell. Sarda also only killed the LWs for his own sadistic purposes, so if he's very soul has not been unmade by Chaos, he's probably seething in hell right now.

If Black Mage happens to have a good side somewhere in him, it has surely been chained to a wall, raped daily, and violently beaten up once a week by the Evil and Atroxiously Evil Side of BM for at least since the day of his birth now. And presumably been comatous ever since the Absorb-my-own-evil incident.

I doubt it would have even got the ghost of a chance to take over heaven.

He only can't because he didn't in the first place

Speaking of Lich and all of them....weren't they planning something? I haven't heard from them in a while.

EDIT: Wait...nevermind. I found them in the plot arcs section.

The thing I've always been curious about is why BM is "evil".

You can define RM and Fighter by natural traits.

Thief had an excuse for becoming the way he is.

But someone doesn't become like BM without a reason. Getting picked on, pushed around, etc.

BM has shown his good side once. In the letter to WM. And to make up for it he admitted to just a few of his atrocities.
