Scientific Progress Goes "Boink"

Calvin and Hobbes is the best comic ever drawn...period. It brings all of us back to our younger years and shows true ironies of real life. Anyone who has not been brought to enlightenment should seek out this series.

Forget all of your Marvel and DC. Straight newspaper style, that's for me :)

That Dilbert,Far Side,and old Garfield

Calvin and Hobbes was, for years, my personal best comic ever.

Then Sluggy Freelance came along. Yes, I know, web. Shaddup. Newspaper style is newspaper style even without the newspaper part.

Far Side and old Garfield rock too, yes.

Calvin and Hobbes is THE best comic ever. Period.

But Attack of the Deranged Killer Monster Snow Goons is a better book.

Now, there was a comic strip I was saddened to see go. Though Watterson made some good points for why he stopped when he did, I was still extremely saddened to see Calvin and Hobbes go by the wayside.
The "boderline" copywrite infringment which followed afterwards (think stickers...and shirts...and peeing) REALLY irritated me, especially as Watterson made it a point to never sell off the faces of his characters.

My first comic was Calvin and Hobbes. I wish I had a tiger friend. *sniff*

Calvin and Hobbes was the greatest. I liked when he shielded his dad from the imaginary bullet with a "patwing" sound and then proceeded to leap away with a "Up! Up! And Away!"

It's all a matter of perception. Calvin simply saw Hobbes differently then the rest of the world did. He wasn't a magical toy that came to life when no one else was around (as you can plainly see in many of the comics) nor was Calvin pretending he was alive. Calvin believed that Hobbes was a living, breathing being, so he was to him.

Calvin and Hobbes was definitely one of the greats. I still remember their last comic. It could almost bring a tear to your eye.

And it's awesome to see a Live-A-Live avatar, Meister. You should try one with the Sunset Kid next time. :)

Yes, Calvin and Hobbes was my first, too. I wish I had a friend, period. *sniff*
