Hasbro remakes Monopoly (at least it's not a Chrono Trigger remake!)

Wait, what the hell does any of those songs have to do with monopoly?!

Seriously Hasbro, was including those songs really necessary? Did you really believe it'd net you some sales?

Everything else I'm fine with.

No paper money?

How can one covertly steal money if it's not paper? That's like the whole point of Monopoly!

Next you're gonna be telling me the game can be played in thirty minutes, tops.

I mean the board barely looks even legible.

Though the two million thing is nothing new. Most online Monopoly games already use that system.

I can totally imagine the guy with top hat and mustache going: "Underlings! My game has become old! We must phreshen it up with kewl soundz and phat beats! Get me the MOST POPULAR songs ever created!"

And then the underlings record 30 minutes of horrible mainstream radio.

I don't think the debit card thing is quite new, either.

Also: you can cheat easily by muddling the calculus.

I'm actually almost tempted to buy it. It's kind of like an acknowledgment we're in the future now. But then I remember I'm a practical person and already have the classic and Pokemon editions that none of us play, anyway.

Come to think of it, I don't recall my family having ever finished a game of Monopoly. We've done crazy-hard puzzles and other board games, but when it comes to Monopoly we generally end up sick of each other and putting the game away before anyone ever gets eliminated.

What? Nooooooooo!!!

Updating classic games isn't a big deal - same thing when they fixed Clue to have minor touches updated, IE changing the "Revolver" to the "Pistol."

But...this is far, far worse.
