Hooking up two monitors to one PC. Also I'm unable to give my threads proper titles.

Is it possible to hook up 2 monitors (ones a View Sonic A70 CRT Size 17" /16.0" Dot Pitch: 0.22mm Horiz. Max. Res: 1280x1024) (and the other ones a View
Sonic 13"?) on to a PC 800mgz, Pentium III processor, running an windows ME OS? :)

Just want to do it mostly for the lols since my old monitor still works. :)

Short Answer: Yes.

Long answer: Yes, but why?

For the same reason why most humans do stuff. Just cause we can, but usually for the lols.

Just wanted to do it for the sake of doing it.

EDIT: Next question how do I get my system to detect the second monitor?

Right click your desktop background.

Select the Properties option.

Select the last tab that's available. It should have a monitor- and a greyed out monitor next to it. Right click on the greyed out monitor and select enable.

Followup: It's done for the lulz, not the lols.

Second Followup: I do know where your coming from on the whole "I want to do it because I CAN do it!"

Rats! Looks like I'll need a second video card (or a new one with 2 ports) cause it won't detect the other monitor in the slot it's plugged in.

Have you restarted your computer since plugging it in?

Try restarting your computer with it plugged in.

Yep.

Still not detecting it.

I hear there are adapters you can get if you have only one functional slot. Go ask the sciencey nerd people at Best Buy or a similar technology retailer about such a device.

Professor Smarmiarty 02-15-2010 12:22 PM

Just get an adaptor- they plug two monitors into the same slot.
