Bob and George
Yeah, I'm making this thread on Nuklear Power's forums, simply because I can't make it on BnG's forums.
Anyway, I'm curious...now that Bob has been destroyed, what's the comic going to be called now? "George"? Feel free to discuss any aspect about BnG[what you (dis)like and so on], not just Bob's destruction. I simply brought that up due to the fact it's been bugging me since I read that particular strip a few days ago. |
I really need to stop waiting a month or two and then checking archives. I miss things like this when they happen.
'course, I'm so behind in 8-bit strips, I've stopped trying. At least I'm close enough to the current BnG strip to have a clue. |
C'mon, you know how these stories go. He'll be gone for a few months and then, through some overused plot device, be brought back. Some will say let's get ice cream, bob will say he hates them, everyone laughs, big sitcom ending. There's a formula being used lately.
|
And note then when they "Killed" off Bob during the Helmeted Author battle, the background and title only said George, and then restored after Bob was revived. Now that George has been "Killed" the background hasn't even changed... Perhaps the dimensional gun transported him one last time when it exploded and he survived. I dunno, but he isn't dead forever if he is dead at all, that I'm sure of...

Yeah, knowing Dave, he'll reuse some convenient plot device(maybe Skullman, as whispered among the BnG forumers, since he once said he would disappear and become another convenient plot device). Leave it to Dave to reuse the same stuff over and over just to stretch the comic out. I'm actually starting to believe Brian's essay on sprite comics(namely the part where he claims to have greatly inclufenced the sprite comic market).
Personally, though, I'd like to see Bob and George meet their deaths. Then what would the sprite comic be called with the "title characters" gone KIA? |
Umm... it's a running gag in the comic that the title characters can't die. Some terribly contrived plot device will save them at the last minute. It's likely Bob was sent wandering through the dimensions again.

Of course, making a 400+ episode comic off of the same gag hasn't seemed to stop people from liking 8-bit Theatre, either. It just works. |
And, of course, in Today's (Sunday, May 9th) comic, it's shown we don't HAVE to wait for months.

I'm not saying BnG isn't funny anymore, it's just starting to feel kinda stale.. I dunno, maybe a comic everyday for so many years takes up all your creativity after awhile. |
See, Bob's fine. It's his home dimension that's in trouble.
