That would cover option (B).

Turns out Alakazam can take the first 3 and almost Karen in the Pokemon League at L.36 with the right moves. I had him with Focus Blast, Shadow Ball, Recover, and Psybeam (switched for Psychic during the battle with Will).

If my Lucario had been higher than L.25 I probably could've taken her. Or if Alakazam hadn't been out of Focus Blast PP.

Give him Signal Beam via move tutor (if that's available). Works like a charm on not just dark types, but also other psychics.

And while the forum was down, Pok?mon Black and White were announced...

Yup.

Some images have surfaced across the net. It seems to be an iteration of the HeartGold & SoulSilver engine, with more emphasis in the 3D effects. There's also been talk about a dynamic camera engine for battles (think Golden Sun).

So, hype and shit.

Edit: New forum doesn't do acute accents? Awww..... :(

Damn I'm loving the design of that city. The game looks great and seems to be on the normal DS.

They seriously went with Black/White this time around? For realzies? I don't know what to say.

BitVyper 04-18-2010 11:51 PM

S'long as they don't do a horrible ad campaign like the PSP did, I don't really see why people are fussing about it.

That was my first reaction as well, but I think that, in this case "Black and White does not racism make". I mean, they've gone through quite a few colors, and gemstones. It seems like they've been avoiding it for a while. And black/white are very significant colors, yes? Sure, there's unfortunate implications, but I very much doubt they'll be modeling their legendaries (or any of their new pokemon) off the black/white concept. As long as they're not being blatantly racist and treating the colors as just that, colors, I don't think we can condemn them.

...

And besides, if you wanted to condemn nintendo for racism, you could have done so after generation 3 still steadfastly featured only white characters and NPCs.

why does it always devolve into discussions about racism

Plus it's the Japanese, who generally feel that anyone who isn't native Japanese can go fuck themselves to hell regardless of race anyway.

Personally, I just feel that "Black and White" is trying to hard to be edgy and cool and dark but I guess that's what I get for having grown up in the 90s.

Kyanbu The Legend 04-19-2010 02:58 AM

If it does get censored, they'll just change the name to Pokemon Light, and Pokemon Dark.

Or Pokemon Day and Pokemon Night.
