Anywho, my SoulSilver FC is:

3567-3914-2442

Trainer name is Julford, but you could call me Sally and I'd still show up :P

EDIT: I'll be available about an hour from now.

Alrighty. I don't know when I'll be on, but I'll add you. I gotta find my friend code and when I do, I'll post it up here.

/edit: Okay for reasons unexplained, I cannot seem to get my DS online with my wireless router so I may be a while.
/edit x2: Okay seriously this is fucking weird. Anyone wanna give me a hand trying to get this thing online please?

As I'm breeding pokes for Mauve, I could give you a baby Turtwig or Mudkip (Because I herd u *is shot*), who both have evolutions with Ground-type moves. Just remember that ground is weak to water and that makes both of those guys neutral to Empoleon's main attacks.

Also, it's D/P. Shinx and it's evolutions are all electric, which are handy for Empoleon.

Yet sadly, their movepool is limited to physical attacks if you want to go off their higher base attack stat.

Can't go wrong with Pikachu/Raichu. Just slap a light ball on the Pikachu.

Alternatively, Magnemite/Magneton/Magnezone.

I've found my Jolteon to be more than reliable in that regard, as well.

Also, Julford: Any chance I could snag a couple starters from you, as well? Treecko and Piplup, specifically. A friend of mine is furiously dex filling and I figured I'd see what I could dig up to give him a hand.

Okay so I can't get an Eevee until after I get the National Pokedex, so I still need a Dark Type.

Also I may grab myself the Magnemite because according to the wiki, it has the most resistances and one of the highest Special Attacks

That'll be fine, I don't mind passing out breedable pokes (So long as you don't care about gender/nature/etc.); I even found my copy of Platinum, so I'll be able to get Gen 3 starters for everyone as well.

Right now I have one of every starter except the Gen 3 pokes, who I'll breed for new ones tomorrow. If anyone is online now and wants to trade within the next 2-3 hours of this post, lemme know. [EDIT: And I'm going to bed now >.>]

Mac, I'm not sure what could be causing the issue, assuming you did all the steps right. I'll run through them real quick, as it's always good to double-check:
1. Start the game.
2. Get to the picture of your legenedary pokemon, where the game displays your pokemon version.
3. Go to the menu with options continue, new game, etc.
4. Click on the "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connestion Settings"
5. Set up the Wi-Fi for your DS the same way you would for your computer, including passwords.
6. Head downstairs in any Pokemon Center, and talk to the middle nurse to enter the Wi-Fi room.

Hopefully this works. If/When it does, I'll make sure I breed you an Eevee or three for you to make use of, too :P

OH! Something I just thought of: If you are using some sort of service that requires a password after gaining access to the internet, the DS can't do that and won't be able to connect properly (I normally can't connect during the week because I live on campus, where they prompt you for a password once you open a program like Firefox or IE).

EDIT: Also, I changed my Friend Code up above, due to technical issues with my DS >.>

You've got a handful of alternative choices, murkrow is probably the earliest dark type you can find, but if you don't want a Dark/Flying, you can get the Poison/Dark Stunky early on too.

Duh, I HAVE a Jolteon

Why did I not think of that, first and foremost?

I need to stop using my Zapdos so much...

And believe it or not, it's EV'd, has a great nature, and it knows Heat Wave. Move over, Jolteon.

Alright. What route do I find Stunky? I am gonna opt out on the Murkrow because I already have myself a good Flying type in Staravia unless you can suggest other wise.

Also what is a good way to evolve my Budew. Like how do I get the happiness factor up?

Dunno bout the Stunky, as far as Budew is concerned...

1) Vitamins. Yeah, they add ten EVs per vitamin, but as long as you're selective on the ones you use (and you have the cash to spare) go for it.

2) Veilstone City has a girl in a house that will give your Pokemon a massage. This will boost the happiness rating, and you will get one seemingly random Accessory for your Fashion Case. You can do this once per day.

3) I think Rare Candies also boost happiness.

4) Have your Pokemon hold a Soothe Bell. This doubles the happiness gain of each and every method.

5) Feed your Pokemon Poffins it likes. Check the second page under Summary to see what it likes (at the bottom, as seen on this page)

6) Lastly, just walking around with it in your party gives it small boosts to happiness.

After you hit max happiness (You can check with the Happiness Checker app that you get in Solaceon Town's Pokemon Center; two hearts shows high happiness, two HUEG hearts is max happiness) you just need to raise your Pokemon's level by one and Presto Change-o! You'll have a Roselia. Roserade after Shiny Stone.

BloodyMage 04-28-2010 06:28 PM

You don't actually have to get it to max happiness, just 220.

Stunky is on routes 206, 214 and 221.
