I'm hoping that this game will finally have a dark type gym. Seriously, no dark gyms in 5 generations. I mean, some of them are represented by Elite 4 members, but it doesn't feel the same (especially the reward of getting a new TM).

Hell, Dark type needs to get at least 1 single move (preferably non-signature) that has 100 base power or more.

The type could really use some love...

Then again, it would be kinda odd to have dark type thrives when B/W has SO many new bug and Fighting types, which kinda would put a damper on the usefulness of dark types in that region. >_>

What I thought upon examining the male trainer.

That's a face...is that a palm tree on his head? The design wants to tell me something...

At least he doesn't have a horrible beret or something :P

Well, if the right guy uses Beat Up, that's effectively 100+ power.

I thought the girl looked like Sailor Moon personally. :D

Well, technically Payback and Assurance can also do 100 power under certain circumstances too, but that doesn't mean it should be the only type that has to jump through several hoops to get base power moves that other types get fairly easily. (I could also say the same for ghost types, since the only move above 80 power is a legendary signature move)

Would also be neat if we got some more type variations. Would like to see a Water/Bug type that isn't Surskit. Poor pokemon had a unique typing but loses it upon evolution.

Also, Foul Play, 95 power, and it improves the higher the attack rating on the enemy is.

And I agree.. like there should be a fire/poison type, for example.

Hell, make some more fire-types in general. >_> Seriously, out of the 48 fire types, 23 are either legendary or starters. Means you got 25 that are even relatively common. 25, out of over 600.

Foul Play is neat in general, especially if your own pokemon is sacrificing attack stats to boost its other stats, but relying on your opponent's choice of pokemon is always risky. (Although I would love it on an Umbreon.)

I'd personally question the value of a fire/poison type, given that the only type that Poison is useful against (Grass) Fire is good against too. Poison also doesn't protect fire types from any of its weaknesses and visa versa (And even gives it a disasterous quad weakness to ground). And the status effects compete for the same slot, since they both do damage over time, but one wants to pump damage more over time and the other wants to reduce the foe's attack stat at the same time. (I keep thinking of it as a sentient cigar)

Then again, we DO have weaksauce typing pokemon like Golem (two common quad weaknesses) and Parasect (5x weakness to Fire with Dry Skin ability!). So I guess something like that wouldn't be out of the picture. I just imagine it wouldn't be terribly competitive. Although immunity to both Burn and Poison is a nice touch, I suppose.

Hmmm, more type variations for electric types would be good, given almost all the electric types are single type.
One or two more pure flying type that isn't legendary wouldn't hurt though. :3

And yeah, I always found fire types to be kinda limited in choices. Doesn't help that so many of them starters are fire/fighting. (All in a row to boot! It's like one of the developers is getting off on creating these types)

Hell, I would like a Fire/Water pokemon. Just make it a "Geyser" pokemon. Capable of both Eruption AND/OR Water Spout? SOLD! Fire help against grass, Water helps against rock/ground, Quad resist to Ice, Steel and Fire, able to use either Rain Dance or Sunny Day (at the expense of the other half of its type), and a very nice diversity of super effective targets that doesn't overlap. Although given its nature of being super hot, it might be one of the few if only water pokemon not be to able to learn ice moves...

Alternatively, if we want to get creative, we could do a Fire/Grass type akin to "Moses' Burning Bush". Sunny Day boost fire type and Solar Beam (and maybe an ability like Chlorophyll or Solar Power which would regain lost health from grass's drain moves). Typewise grass helps against water, ground and rock while fire helps against ice and bug while hitting the steel type that grass can't easily handle. Also quad resist grass. Sleep or Stun Powder can be quite useful if one would rather forgo the burning statuses.

Sounds like a pokemon that Scald would be perfect for.

Plus, it's not like there arn't a bunch of exothermic aquatic creatures out there that they could draw insperation from.

RobinStarwing 04-20-2012 07:34 PM

I still want to see a Dark/Psychic Type...an Eevee evolution that happens during an eclipse would be perfect for this!

Shyria Dracnoir 04-20-2012 08:51 PM

We still need Eveeolutions for a few more types anyways. So far we have Normal, Fire, Water, Lightning, Psychic, Dark, Grass and Ice. That still leaves Bug, Flying, Dragon, Ghost, Poison and Fighting.
