I've found a juvenile pleasure in nicknaming all appropriate Pokémon as Brokémon. There is a much bigger amount of these than one would expect, though they can get pretty rediculous. Brobroke, Brobro, and Broking are particularly cringe worthy. On the other hand, I quite like Articunbro and Zapdbros. Fuck Moltres.

Also, I moved all my important stuffs off Platinum and have DELETED FUCKING EVERYTHING (just the rest of the save data really) so I can start a new playthrough. I have been contemplating a Let's Play (as if we REALLY need another one) however, as this is a physical copy and not a ROM, I don't really have any way of getting screenshots. I could do a whole thing where I pull backgrounds and such off the interwebs, and just do dialogue with little avatars (a la GC's 1st Gen LP) but that seems like too much work for a lazy guy like me. I'm going to be blunt: Pokèmon Let's Plays are horrible, time comsuming things. They will make you loathe anything you may have loved about the game. Besides, we have one going, and two on hiatus right now. You'd need something uber-special to set a new one apart.

Like, what, Pokemon Platinum, a horrible sense of humor, plenty of free time in the evenings- You know what, I'm not even gonna go there. I would quit within a month. If I'd wanted to use a rock type I'd have pulled the Golem out of my bank and used that. As it stood, I was mostly just getting screwed over by her Miltank's Scrappy ability and held Lum Berry taking all the fun out of my Gastly and Attract taking all the fight out of my male Riolu. The whole thing was mostly just a learning experience about being prepared for the G/S/C version of a fight when HG/SS is a whole different ballgame. It was not a mistake I made again.

TL;DR Whitney is the only gym leader that I actually had to try against and such insolence infuriates me.

Well, I had a Rash Haunter with Shadow Punch and a Croconaw with Bite so he pretty much folded like a bad hand when I took him on.

I had a Zubat. That I was raising for a Crobat. I actually had to leave the Gym and evolve him... but goddamn his Gengars just love to spam Shadow Ball the whole match... raping anything that didn't have stupid high Sp. Def and a resistance to Ghost.

I pulled a level 14 Stantler out of storage and made it use hypnosis and astonish until the Gengar was out of the way. The only thing he could use to hurt my stantler was sucker punch, so as long as I only used astonish when he was asleep, my stantler was safe.

I trained an Absol (Hoenn Sound + Slowpoke Well) and completely toasted that fucker's gym and his stupid Gengar like it was nothing.

Wat. I thought Hoenn Sound didn't start til POST NATIONAL DEX. How... how did... WAT?

Turns out Alakazam can take the first 3 and almost Karen in the Pokemon League at L.36 with the right moves. I had him with Focus Blast, Shadow Ball, Recover, and Psybeam (switched for Psychic during the battle with Will).

If my Lucario had been higher than L.25 I probably could've taken her. Or if Alakazam hadn't been out of Focus Blast PP.

That was my first reaction as well, but I think that, in this case "Black and White does not racism make". I mean, they've gone through quite a few colors, and gemstones. It seems like they've been avoiding it for a while. And black/white are very significant colors, yes? Sure, there's unfortunate implications, but I very much doubt they'll be modeling their legendaries (or any of their new pokemon) off the black/white concept. As long as they're not being blatantly racist and treating the colors as just that, colors, I don't think we can condemn them.

And besides, if you wanted to condemn nintendo for racism, you could have done so after generation 3 still steadfastly featured only white characters and NPCs.

Sure, "Black and white"... lame name. Quartz and Onix would be better, Hell, just give me Pokemon Plutonium and Pokemon Uranium and i'll shut up forever!

But the whole "BW" thing is just a throwback to the old days, it ties to the "reboot" image they want to pass with this title, so that's ok.

Now, so far, the only thing new i saw was "We tilted the camera a tad more, and now there is more 3d"... ok... so?

For "complete reboot" i'm expecting a major blowout with some serious changes to the battle mechanics and gameplay in general. I don't mean new features or tweaks, i mean actuall goddamn changes.

Also, no Backwards compatibility. You should get all pokemons with these titles, and everyone starts from scratch. That's what Reboot should mean. At most, you should be able to do something like, get items based on your pokemons from previous games or battle your character from previous games in tournaments.

PS: Also, now with the new forums, these icons on the left side, under our avvy's just remind me of Gym Badges for some god damn reason...

That'd be nice, but how much of this game have we seen? Maybe Nintendo really is doing a whole Reboot and they just want to save the fangasming for later. Probably not, of course, but it's nice to imagine.

The special Raikou, Entei, and Suicune with the special moves that Japanese Pokemon Movie goers are getting will unlock something in B/W, a la Movie Regigigas and Movie Arceus did for Plat and HG/SS respectively. So yeah, we're gonna get to move our Pokeymans up to Gen V from IV. Probably via Pal Park, but there IS some untapped potential via Time Capsule (how the original GSC traded with RBY). Again, it's not CONFIRMED, but given the release data for the special Beast Trio is out... it's implied.
