'Cause chicks dig giant robots

Have you guys seen that new cartoon on Saturdays called Megas XLR? I think it's cool and stuff. The way the 'mech pilots is like a videogame (the pilot uses a combination of gamepad, steering wheel and gear shifts), and it's blur, so it's gotta be cool.

Any other opinions?

AndyBloodredMage 05-09-2004 08:48 PM

Haven't seen the show, in fact haven't seen any saturday morning shows in awhile. I need my 12 hours of sleep. Also, what's blur?

How can you beat a giant robot with a car for a head? Anyway, I really like the show and I want to see the episode that I happened to miss last night.

Mr. Viewtiful 05-09-2004 08:56 PM

Megas XLR is on during Toonami on Cartoon Network every Saturday. I'm not sure on the actual time, but they show 2 episodes in a row (at least they did yesterday).

Bah, Jehuty is t3h ownz.

lazy man 05-09-2004 09:30 PM

I think Jehuty wouldn't exactly fit in with the setting, which is modern New Jersey.

Speaking of Jersey, I think the creators must have a grudge against that state, because they always destroy it before the end of the episode.

I don't have cable right now because I'm cat sitting for my cousin....I miss watching new cartoons....this sucks.

Aerozord 05-10-2004 09:31 AM

there is already a thread about this here

Dragonsbane 05-10-2004 06:28 PM

I thought it was fairly awesome (i.e. major ass-kicking and giant robots). And I wonder if the red-haired chick is gonna fall for Coop or his friend (the scrawny, black-haired one)?

Klyco 05-10-2004 07:18 PM

I liked it. If it was on adult swim, BigO would have some serious competition.

Dragonsbane 05-11-2004 11:32 AM

It wouldn't be on adult swim, not enough "mature" content....

It would still kick Big O's ass.

AndyBloodredMage 05-11-2004 09:03 PM

Let's be honest here, sailor moon could probally kick big o's ass.

Now that is a low blow. Kid Krillin could kick his ass.

Does anyone know why they moved Toonami to once a week on saturdays and replaced it with Miguzi? I mean come on, Miguzi? Whats up with that?

Aerozord 05-12-2004 09:24 AM

actually they went back to what it used to be. About two years ago it was basically an adult swim toonami cross. As for the new thing, well they went to a 13 below targeted age group. Toonami was more targeted at 13-18

Dragonsbane 05-14-2004 11:46 AM

Sailor Moon and Big O would end up killing eachother, if I had my way.....and I liked being able to watch action cartoons after school on weekdays.......stupid Miguzi.......replacing DBZ on weekdays with Ninja Turtles and children's shows.....may the people who did that writhe in Hell until the end of time!

Hamelin 05-14-2004 12:18 PM

Are you implying that DBZ is for a more 'mature' audience?

Dragonsbane 05-14-2004 02:32 PM

Cooler stuff happens in DBZ, and it is more "violent"...............and I'm starting to believe the company that makes these decisions hates me, and wishes me to suffer.

Sir Minimus of Lakshmi 05-14-2004 03:41 PM

That is messed up. Toonami did used to be a late thing, but why did they change it back while they still have adult swim?

Dragonsbane 05-14-2004 06:32 PM

maybe some parents decided that the shows on cartoon network at that time were too violent for their "precious little angel" (i.e. drooling, moronic, little brat), so they called Cartoon Network and expressed their outrage by means of simplistically-worded protests and angry letters.......imbeciles, it won't make them any more violent than the upbringing they're getting....

Static Hamster 05-14-2004 09:37 PM

Giant Robots....a foot tall Static Hamster could disable one of those easily...

Feeling inadequate?

Phenominal Cosmic Power....itty bitty...(and adorable) living space.....

Dragonsbane 05-15-2004 07:41 AM

and an evil, dragon-slaying Spellsword can destroy a giant robot too, but why wreck that poor kid's dreams by destroying his most prized possession?
