Enslaved (PS360).

So yeah, it sounds pretty neat. You play a guy wearing a control crown and extendo-staff/bazooka named Monkey, who's essentially being controlled by your ever-present escort mission and technical backup, Trip. It's Journey to the West meets post-apocalyptic New York meets the guy who did Gollum for the motion capture, so you know that's going to be good, and apparently even as unfinished as it is, it plays well, in no small part to the fact that you actually have the option to plop Trip down away from the action and kill everything before she has to come through.

Well, it's certainly better than a brown grey realistic shooter starring men in power armour.

Though I'd prefer to see some gameplay footage before I make any kind of judgement first.

Well of course, but it sounds good in theory, I mean. There's supposed to be more info at the next E3, which will be this summer or something, won't it? I'm sure they'll have some there.

I'm just impressed with IGN's first impressions, because it sounds like things are already working well inasmuch as they're in there already. Normally, I'd expect something early on in development to get a "well, it looks pretty, I guess" or "it seems like there's potential here." This is getting "wow, the stuff that's in here is EFFING FANTASTIC!" Basically saying that even unfinished, it's working great, with no mention of any bugs or imbalances. Being perfect right out the door is pretty exceptional.
