Things we would like to see in an epilogue?

What things would you like to see in an epilogue comic?

For me it would be:

The future fate of Elf Land after its war with Corneria.

The future fate of the Light Warriors. Does Fighter ever leave BM? What happens to Red Mage? Is there even a kingdom left for Thief?

What happens to the Dark Warriors? Do they become good guys now?

What happpens to Dwarf Land?

What happens to Corneria?

What happens to Bahamut and Mayatoa?

What happens to Akbert?

What happens to White Mage?

Honestly? I would really love if there was an Epilogue were it was simply fighter 10 years ahead in the future writing in his "Epi log" making his memoirs of his great adventures and the destiny of his comrades.

Also, Black Mage and thief selling the map to find the armor of invincibility to young adventurers.

Bahamut and Matoya: They fucked hundrds of comics ago and scarred the Light Warriors for life. They're minor players and don't matter beyond that.

Akbar/Jeff: They were throwaway characters for jokes, a reference to Matt Groening's Life In Hell series.

The only thing I really care about seeing is one last panel with the Light Warriors coming to the realization that all their time spent together and challenges faced have been utterly meaningless. They're forever crippled by Sarda's magic, they have no glory, no riches, no one will ever remember them and their inept 'rivals' will forever be loved by the world over. The best Thief has is to crawl back home and hope he can assume the throne. Everyone else is just kinda boned.

I'd like to see the actual end of the story. Right now things just feel like they're dropped off a cliff. As grateful as I am for one of the web's most stalwart comic series, I think the various characters should have their story arcs closed.

Also:
3/20 - Comic 1224.
3/31 - "No, 8-bit isn?t quite finished yet. We?re done with the meat of the thing, all that?s left is a page or two where we throw the bones into the trash."
4/17 - "Yes, that was the end of 8-bit Theater."

This is the best way to end comic, really a joke on reader once again since everybody is pissed of because someones fate isn?t resolved. I think LW went to prison since they failed to get " we killed Chaos"-glory so DW probably just sent them to prison for their crimes.

Some sort of soppy, not-in-the-spirit-of-the-comic-at-all, utterly anti-anticlimactic ending. One with true meaning, that evokes emotion, laughter, tears, a fitting last page to a great epic.

Because seriously, after that last page, everybody's going to expect more anticlimax in the epilogue. The only way to beat them is to make your anticlimax climactic.

That makes perfect sense!

The joke has been on us readers for close to a decade. Something different might be nice for a finisher.

Like a joke on Brian, instead? Everyone! No reading the final comic, if it ever comes up, and no posting in the forums about it!

A joke on Brian?
How about we the fans create our own epilogue, post it up, and consider it 100% canon no matter what he says or how he argues. Then the joke would be on Brian.

I agree with this. That might have been why so many people asked "is this the end?" Kind of went from "it's not quite the end, got a couple more" to "it's the end and quit E-mailing me about it" a little quick. =)

That being said - given his paying career picking up - if the "epilogue" never happens, I'm happy with what is there. I'd rather have no ending than something really hastily thrown together just to get people off of his back, much less a hastily thrown together "f you" to the readers for bugging him. (and before the dozens of replies with "That's all that Brian does", there are different levels of "f you" to the audience, that one isn't one I see happening).
