Sexual Innuendo: The Box, the Game.

So I just made a trip up to my local Gamestop because everyone there plays pokemon all day and we like to berate the hell out of each other over our pokemon choices ("Dude, Umbreon is, liek, SO teh gay."). On the counter, they had a copy of a game I'd never heard of before then: Record of Agarest War.

Now, the name itself did nothing for me. The front of the box did nothing for me. HOWEVER, it was obviously some sort of limited edition box considering the size, and I happened to catch that this was the "Really Naughty Limited Edition". I shit you not. Even better/worse, the artwork on the sides of the box are incredibly suggestive drawings of girls doing things like: Eating gigantic sausages while dripping with sweat, being tied up and held in the air by vines, eating a banana, oh and one of them seems to have let an ice cream cone melt all over her face. Yeah.

I bought the hell out of this game, and I'm only moderately ashamed of myself. Here's a video of somebody opening the box and showing off the contents.

I saw this version of it on Gamestop.ca and had to do a double take. The mouse bad thingy was weird enough, but throwing in a pillow case? bizarre!

Grief, possibly "good".

Head in hands shaking back and forth. Laughter with pity and embarrassment. Finding it espeically hilarious and appropriate that his wife was holding the camera and filming this.

Fortunately, the pillow-case wasn't quite what I thought it was... it was too short.

Man, Japanese culture can be messed up sometimes, though.

WHO thought it was a good idea to put girls EATING A SAUSAGE (which was way too large, by the way), EATING A BANANNA, MISSING WITH ICE CREAM, and TIED UP BY VINES? Hilarious? Yes. Good idea? Not so much. Though, given that it's targeted to teens... who use the internet... all the time... well... maybe it was a sound financial one.

Hey, it got ME to buy it >.>

I have the game itself. Not the limited edition, though.
They didn't have it when I picked it up. Not sure if I'd actually bought it either. REGARDLESS!

The game itself is kinda funny, though I'm not in that far. The main thing the drew me in was the whole "generations" thing. Basically, you're immortal, and you create offspring with one of your party members (the girls, obviously). Years pass, and your offspring joins the fight, instead of the original partner.
At least, I think that's how it works. Like I said, not that far in.

It sounds interesting.

Have you seen little Joey? He's missing, but at least he has Ice-Cream

?
This begs for a hilarious image

The main char of the first generation wants to protect someone (little elf girl, Ellis), gets his ass kicked badly, and in exchange for power to protect Ellis, he pretty much sells his soul, as well as those of his offspring. After a generation is done, the main char for that generation, as well as the potential wives disappear.

Pretty fun to play, and a very interesting craft/shop system, but there are huge difficulty jumps, and combat does get a tad tedious. Currently busy in the third generation.
