SF IV

So yet another fan made movie is coming our way.

Seeing the history of SF, I don't know what to think about any other live action movies...

Yeah... but the trailer doesn't do much for me at all. They might get the "gist" of Street Fighter battles, but it takes more than that to put the word "movie" in there and be proud of it.

I've said many times that all you need to do to make a good Street Fighter movie is to ignore all pretenses of plot save for what little is absolutely necessary to string a series of fight scenes together. That's what the games do and that's what entire subgenres of movies do and it confuses me how no director or producer has made the obvious connection yet.

e: okay you also need a good fight choreographer and a bunch of good martial artists but I took that as a given.

I guess you won't like my pitch for Zangief and Dhalsim go on tour. It's Lethal Weapon meets Rocky meets Borat!

Well, after watching two thirty second trailers which spent half their time showing production company logos and revealed nothing more than Ryu and Ken adjusting their pajamas, I can safely and without a doubt say that this is, in fact, the best Street Fighter movie ever made.

How about the cartoon?

Those are anime. Those are always awesome.

We're talking live action. Those are always sucky.

I would watch that!

I guess I should have added "live-action" as a qualifier.

Given that this fan film isn't likely to include Chun-Li shower scenes, it's already working at a disadvantage there.

If I recall, you don't see anything. Unless there is an unrated version around somewhere.
