A WoodElf's Story (Feel Free to Join..)

Misjbar awakens near the large oak tree... This tree is from long time past, planted by one of his ancestors unkown. This perticular oak tree gives off a pleasant aura, it seems. The oak tree stands in the Eastern Forest, where it is silent and peaceful. Turning, Misjbar regarded his tree, and thought of times of Elven honour and when the other races respected them. These times though, he thought, may never be restored in full. Closing his eyes and breathing in the warm air, whispered to himself "I wish the Elves would be restored to their former grace."
A noise to the west awakens him from his daydream. Deciding he needed to take a walk anyway, Misjbar started down the road. When he entered the town of Troll's Bane, the town was completely empty. As Misjbar searches for people, a strange, dark WoodElf appears in front of him. "The Elves' grace hast been restored." And with this, the elf disappeared in thin air.
Afraid of what strange occurences could have began because of his wish, Misjbar turned himself on the spot and ran as fast as he could, back to his Oak tree in the Eastern Forest. He hopped branch by branch to the top and hid in it's leaves, afraid of what may come of the events passed.
Watching from the tree next, sitting on a high limb eating a sweet apple, Jeth Krindow watches this foolish elf in awe. Tossing the apple core aside to the bushes, he quietly climbs down from the tree and walks toward the Oak tree neighbouring the Dead Orc Trail. Looking up towards the highest boughs of the tree, he cried with glee, "Hello fellow WoodElf, what would thy name be?"
"Misjbar..." the hiding WoodElf loudly murmurs to himself, clearly deep in thought.
"And what is thy problem? A monster of some sort?" asks Jeth, always trying to be the helpful (and nosy) elf.
"Noone is in town, not even the animals...What has happened? Some sort of trickery?" replied the stout and strong WoodElf which was Misjbar.
As though this was good humour, Jeth let out a great laugh. "What is funny, my friend?" asks Misjbar. Puzzled, Jeth looks into his eyes, and declares, "I am confused, for I do not know what you speak of. Is this true? Surely not, no, it can't be...."
"Come with me and I shall show you", and with that Misjbar exited from his hiding spot. "Follow me..."
Trudging along the worn and beaten path of ages gone, Jeth and Misjbar said nothing to each other, for Jeth did not want relations with one with such problems. As they approached the gates, Jeth heard cries of children and the sounds of cows, horses and such. The guard greeted them happily and they walked into town. "See? Now you must beleive me!"
Jeth looks around, a grin on his face. "Surely you do not take me for a fool? I knew you were speaking fibs from the start!" With that, Jeth Krindow turned and exited the town to rest in his tree and chomp in content on more apples.
All Misjbar did was stand in wonderment and fear at the empty town in front of his eyes...

So how might I be able to join?

Jeth 05-20-2004 08:14 PM

You see, as it is the elves' grace as restored because now there are no other races to put them down, so they are the only race now. :P Post a story of another elf who notices the change. (One must have wished for the grace to be restored..)

Dragonsbane 05-21-2004 01:57 AM

you forgot one teensy little detail.......the Drow! "The Elves' grace has been restored"...............including the grace of a people fallen from glory, banished beneath the ground, and now the other species of elf must band together to combat their menace......

Jaguar 05-21-2004 05:18 AM

Yay, go drow!

Dragonsbane 05-21-2004 02:54 PM

"And thus we were banished........cursed by vile Corellon! The Eternal Glory of the Spiderqueen, disgraced by the foul faerie! But some day........the curse that caused our exile to the underground, the curse that makes the sun our enemy, to sting our eyes, to melt our weapons, to burn our flesh....it will be gone, and then the elves of the surface shall DIE!!!!" the High Priestess continued for some time, but the young wizard Kelnozz Na'Faen was no longer listening..........when you've heard one drow cleric rant, you've heard them all, as the saying goes. He sighed, careful to be quiet enough that the other young drow around him couldn't hear......he wished that the drow race DID have their grace restored to them, that once again they could live on the surface......he had heard the stories told of the surface, and through the many lessons about the evils of the surface elves, he was able to detect glimpses of a world that contained surpassing beauty........Kelnozz was suddenly distracted from his musings, as the High Priestess reached the conclusion of the ceremony. "to prove our faith in Lolth, let a yochlol (Handmaiden of Lolth) be summoned!" She set light to the incense in the nearby braziers with a quick gesture, then chanted the words of her spell......there was a flash of light, and a roar of thunder........and the yochlol appeared....

Normally taking the form of a tentacled, melty-looking creature........this yochlol had assumed the form of a tall and beautiful drow female, an expression of wicked glee on her face as she prepared to deliver the word of Lolth to those assembled...."children of the Goddess......our curse is ENDED!" the drow all stared around at eachother, not sure whether or not this yochlol was insane or joking......the demon, seeing this, scowled. "you DOUBT a servant of Lolth!!?? Observe the truth of my words, fools! SUNLIGHT!!! " a flash of yellow light lit the dark cavern room, and the drow inside shrieked in terror, all trying to shield their eyes from the blinding sunlight......except for Kelnozz......he had long wondered what the light of the sun would be like......and he found, to his surprise, that he could see perfectly well. "Perhaps she is right...." he realized suddenly that the words were coming from his mouth, and as the other drow present, many of them higher-ranking females, stared incredulously at him, they forgot to sheild their eyes........and realized the truth in his words...."the boy is right! Unusually perceptive for a male......." the High Priestess grinned at him, her crimson eyes twinkling. The yochlol stood there, a smug look on her face. "My apologies for our doubt, Handmaiden of the Goddess......" the High Priestess bowed low. "What does Lolth wish us to do with our gift?" the yochlol smirked as she replied..."exactly what you were promising to someday do, before I was summoned! It is time for our vengeance upon the surfacers!!!" with that, the yochlol vanished in a puff of crimson smoke and a faint smell of brimstone............the High Priestess, chest heaving with excitement, turned to the congregation. "What are you waiting for!? Go back to your families and make preparations for the invasion! May the favor of the Spiderqueen be with us ALL!" All of the drow complied, though Kelnozz's mind churned with confused thoughts as he followed them, wondering what this would mean for him............

Jeth 05-21-2004 05:52 PM

OOC : Wow I didn't expect someone to actually join in on something almost un-joinable! :D

Dragonsbane 05-21-2004 06:12 PM

OOC: The destiny of the Drow is to conquer all! And I've always wanted to lead a Drow army on a war of conquest........

Oh My God this thread has turned into a drow lovers thread! Woot! I loves teh Drow and one day they will rise up and defeat their pale skinned cousins

Dragonsbane 05-23-2004 12:03 PM

W00t! All hail the drow!!!!! All hail Lord Salvatore, who introduced me to the drow!!! We shall BURN the surface elves!!! MUWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

meanwhile.............the drow began making preparations for the raid on the surface. Weapons were polished, magic items were tested and strengthened, spells were practiced, and messengers were sent out to the other drow cities bearing news......all had noticed the sudden disappearance of the slaves who would normally perform such tasks, but most just considered it to be a test of their faith in Lolth, and kept working....
