Piercing Instructions And Aftercare - Now With Tattoos!

"Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
"I think so, Brain, but why would anyone want to pierce Brosnan?"

So on Wednesday I got me tongue pierced:

Went to do it at a reputable place, clean instruments and all that jazz. I know most of the after-care instructions and all I needed to hear was "Yeast Infection on your tongue..." to stick to them.

That being said, I'm on a liquid diet; soup and stuff... what's okay? I was told nothing with yeast, and nothing really acidic until I heal up. I've been sticking to canned mushroom soup and cola/tea/coffee/water/whatever.

After deciding that I also want to go back in for my tattoos, what can people recommend for those?

Something non-video game, comic, show, reltationship, or otherwise popculture/personal based? You have to assume that in at least ten years you'll outgrow/move beyond whatever is current.

Yeah, take care of that shit. I'd say to avoid cola even, that shit will dissolve a nail given enough time. Stick to clear sodas IMHO. As for back tats, if you get wings I'll find you and erase them. With a rusty spork. Get something awesome that has meaning to you, its going to be there for ever, so something that you love. The best tattoos have meaning to them. That's my two cents, at least.

I was thinking of going pure video game. But I'm looking for info about care for tattoos, not the tattoos themselves.

OH! Care! Right... SPF 30 Sunscreen. Use it so it wont fade. I don't like to cover them personally, air getting to them makes them heal faster. Most tat shops sell special creams or ointments for use ask them for the ones they like best, or as I said, a stick of water resistant sunscreen.

See if Brian will pay you to make it Atomic Robo.

every tattoo artist has their own rules about taking care of the tattoos that theyve given you. But its generally all the same. Keep lotion on it for a couple days, dont pick the scab, and dont get too much sun while its healing.

Don't go job hunting until you can take the piercing out safely and hide the tattoo.

It's not really a "care" thing so much as a "businesses don't like those" thing, but keep it in mind so that if they tell you you have to, it doesn't result in your tongue falling off and such.

Never, ever get a tatto of someone's name. The future can be a bitch.

Sounds rather obvious now I type it.

I use Bag Balm on my tats when they are healing. "Meant only for use on animals" my ass. That stuff is soo-thing.
