So, The New Silent Hill Will Not Have Its Maestro

May be old news for some of you, but Akira Yamaoka left Konami after sixteen years. I have respect for both of them, but I still wish they were together. Yamaoka left for something called "Grasshopper Manufacture." I can only surmise that they create small insects, and have no idea why Yamaoka would want to have such a sudden career change after such a long while as a composer.

The newest Silent Hill game is being developed by a Czech company called Vatra as its first project. I'm glad that the series has moved away from CLIMAX, the developers of Origins and Memories, and Double Helix, the original developers of Homecoming... But at the same time, the Wikipedia blurb about the company cites that:

Akira Yamaoka has composed music for all of the Silent Hill games, from Silent Hill to Memories. His most notable stuff, to me anyway, include:

Theme Of Laura (Reprise) - Silent Hill 2
Letter From The Lost Days - Silent Hill 3
Lost Carol - Silent Hill 3
Room Of Angel - Silent Hill 4
Scarlet Fitch - Silent Hill: Homecoming
One More Soul To The Call - Silent Hill: Homecoming
Alex' Theme - Silent Hill: Homecoming

Climax didn't develop Homecoming.

Edit: That was Double Helix.

Grasshopper Manufacture is Suda51's company. He's working on a game with Suda, or so I hear. I'm interested in seeing what they put out. There was a live interview with him on GhM's livestream channel about why he went to GhM, but it was all in Japanese so I didn't really catch anything.

Eh, that sucks. I always enjoyed the music in silent hill. Didn't care for most of the games themselves (good concept and everything, but the gameplay usually doesn't cut it for me).
