Looks like it might be something good, but I'll wait until I see the final product. SWB |
Yeah, when I saw the title for an artile on Goggle New today it said something about Warner Bros. taking a shot a Mortal Combat and I was all "What? A third movie?" and then I read it and saw it was just another game.

This one looks like exactly what the fans want, though. I want this game, and I've never owned a single one of the series.
It better be up for PS3. |
That is the most impractical cool hat I have ever seen.
As somebody who was never all that interested in the series, I would definitely buy this. |
Never was a big Mortal Kombat fan (born a bit late for the golden age of the series), but maybe this'll get me into the series I've been ignoring most of my life.
|
As a big fan of the MK games from when 2 came out, I'm fairly excited.
|
Haha, I like how it's just called "Mortal Kombat". Blah.
I hope they keep the multiple fighting styles, but at least there are combos, and a return to individual fatalities (the Kung Lao one looks spectacular, I can only guess what is in store for Sub-Zero since he has had the best ones recently. The one where Johnny Cage smashes in his opponent's skull and holds up his brain isn't bad though.) Being as how the only one that had toned down violence was the DC Universe crossover I'm not sure why they're complaining about "lack of violence". |
The animation looks janky but this might be the game to get me into Mortal Kombat. Never was one for it before.

MK has always been on the lower end of graphical quality. Some of the PS2 games were downright ugly, Armaggedon comes to mind. Even on the SNES it paled in comparison to the graphics presented by Killer Instinct or the more traditional graphics of Street Fighter.
|
The original Mortal Kombats were considered to be highly graphical for the use of actual actors as the sprites.
But anyway, grew up with MK and love the series. The 3D games have made me sick to my stomach though and the most recent game of the series I still own is Mythologies: Sub Zero. I'm really glad they are going back to the formula that was good. And on that note, what's with all the Sub Zero hate from Midway? In the movie trailer he seems to've been marked out as nothing more then a plot device. And in the game's trailer and demo video he is getting completely owned! Where's the Subby love!? |
