Let's go through the GBA library!

Time for me to do a LP!

I have a crap load of GBA games I might want to do so let's have some voting.

Your options for "season 1" are: The Soma Cruz Castlevania games, Advance Wars 1 and 2, the Mega Man Battle Network series, Golden Sun 1 and 2, the GBA Fire Emblem games, Metroid fusion and Zero Mission, Boktai, Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga, The Minish Cap, Sigma Star Saga, the Duel Masters games and YuGiOh Duel Academy. The top 5 will be played in that order! Warning a series or francise counts as 1. HAVE FUN!

If you can't do Harmony of Dissonance (which I love mostly for its music) you should go for the Sorrow Castlevanias.
Doing Golden Sun would be pretty much stealing someones gig as far as I know.
Fire Emblem would be fine, the dude who did those is banned and no one except me seemed to care about those anyway.

What format will the LP be in?
Have you done this before? If not, my suggestion would be to create some episodes in advance so you can find out what works best for you or if you can even pull it off.

Ooh, Metroid! I haven't actually played a Metroid game since Super M.

(Or any before that.)

Sidescrollers for teh win!

By the way if you're going with screenshots, I'll advice in advance to get a screenshot program like Gadwin to avoid having to resize hundreds of stamp-sized pixel screens.

For the sidescrollers, I'd personally recommend doing a video LP. Not really sure how well Castlevania, for example, could work as a screenshot LP.

I was going to save just before I take the screenshots and if THAT fails I'll do a written LP for those.

...I wonder if there should be some sort of rule regarding a minimum number of posts you must make before you're eligible to start an LP.
...It's not that I think it necessarily should be illegal or anything, moreso that it just surprises me when someone shows up out of nowhere and immediately (probably erroneously) thinks that an LP project is going to work out.

...Not a specific criticism towards you, Fusionman, because I don't know you well enough to make the judgment call: just something I'm noticing generally lately. There are a hell of a lot of new LPs coming out the woodworks and at this juncture I almost wish we had separate LP and "regular talk about videogames threads" boards, the LPs are dominating the rest of the content. It's also hard to determine whether you're serious about your LP attempt (as I have no idea regarding your commitment / ability as an LPer) and thus whether I should spend time answering this.

(Mind you, this is coming from the guy who's failed at LPs twice in the past, you'll outdo me if you just get halfway on one.)

...Whatever happened to that "five LP maximum" rule, anyway? That was a good rule.

EDIT: Thanks NonCon.

I might do harmony of dissonance actually. :ohdear: Sorry that's now added in.

The format will be written or screenshot depending on the game and I have done LP's before. Thanks for the warning though.

Oh, didn't see the Metroids earlier. Must've skipped over them with my tired eyes
I sorta like the GBA Metroids actually. Despite what some people I know say about them. I really like the last bit of Zero Mission. Y'know, the stuff that's new to the remake.

Now out of those games all the ones I played have been covered. Except Minish Cap. But I'm not very fond of that.

It got removed when the initial rush stopped and people started getting antsy cause they wanted to start their LP and some of the current 5 were updating sporadically. The mods probably figured having a few too many LPs was less annoying than dealing with people bugging them to shut down slow LPs or to "just let me keep my LP open a bit longer, I'll update, promise!"

Edit: Thought I inlcuded this but my votes for Aria of Sorrow or Mario and Luigi.

I can understand that.
And I'd actually be all for more than an arbitrary number of LPs if I knew the LPers well enough to have hope that their material would be exciting. It's not even the quantity of updates or the success of the project itself that interests me (after all, I have a horrible track record there) but moreso that at least I'd enjoy the ride along the way. Minimum post requirements could be useful there just to ensure that LPers contribute to the community generally before popping out of nowhere and trying a huge project. With so many of these going on at once, it's just difficult for me to determine which ones are going to pay off -- and I'm hoping LPs don't actually outright replace conversations about video games as the dominant mode of expression here.
